Gundam Fans, You Need These Glow-in-the-Dark Shirts

Fans of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series can now order three flashy new T-shirts, each of which glows in the dark for extra pizazz. Nearly 50 years after the original series debuted, Gundam continues to be the biggest name in the mecha genre, with fresh releases and collaborations continuing to delight fans in 2026. These new shirts, available in both kids and adult sizes, are perfect for those wanting to celebrate five decades of mecha action in style.

A special livestream was held in May to announce several new projects in the Gundam universe, leaving longtime fans in utter shock at the sheer amount of new content to come throughout 2026 and beyond. The most awe-inspiring announcement for many was a remaster of the original 1979 anime series Mobile Suit Gundam, slated to be released in 2029 to coincide with the franchise’s 50th anniversary. Developed by Sunrise, the series remains notable for being the first to depict massive mechs as mass-produced weapons of war, with a remake potentially serving to bring an entirely new generation of fans into the fold.

Mobile Suit Gundam isn’t the only anime series getting a serious refresh. Fans of Gundam Wing (of which there are many in the West) also have something to look forward to, as a new “visual project” has been announced to commemorate its 30th anniversary. While it’s unclear whether this will be a short clip, a film, or a new anime series, fans are encouraged to keep an eye out for updates in the near future. Last year, Gundam Wing celebrated its 30th anniversary with various events, including the return of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz to theaters in the US for a brief run.
