Summary
Developer TVGS opens the first Schedule 1 community vote.
Players can vote for the game’s next major content update in-game via the main menu.
The three options are: a Rival Cartel update, a Police Expansion update, or a Shrooms update.
The first official community vote for Schedule 1 is now live, as developer TVGS calls upon players to decide what the game’s next major content update should be. The very first Schedule 1 community vote will be available until this coming weekend, and gives players the option to vote between a Rival Cartel update, a Police Expansion update, or a Shrooms update. While all three updates will likely make their way to the game in the future, the vote will determine which one is released first.
Despite the fact that this smash-hit indie game is developed by one individual, Schedule 1 has already passed an incredible sales milestone. Shortly after its release back in March, Schedule 1 flew straight to the top of the Steam charts, peaking at more than 459,000 concurrent players. Its massive success came out of nowhere, reportedly selling 8 million copies and generating $125 million in revenue. In just April alone, Schedule 1 supposedly sold a massive 4.7 million copies on Steam. For comparison, the second-best-selling game for the month was another popular indie game, R.E.P.O., which sold 3.7 million copies in April.

While the game’s developer, Tyler, could have sailed off into the sunset and ended support after finding overwhelming success, he continues to release new content updates for Schedule 1. Just days after the game’s most recent patch, Tyler has opened up the game’s first community vote to find out what players want to see next. As detailed in a new Steam post, players can vote between a Rival Cartel update, a Police Expansion update, or a Shrooms update. Fans who want to make their voices heard can vote by opening up Schedule 1 and selecting their preferred choice via the main menu. Tyler says the vote will run “until this coming weekend,” but did not provide a firm date or time for when it will end.
The most recent Schedule 1 update was released over the weekend, finally replacing employee beds with lockers. The highly requested feature is something fans had been begging for ever since the game launched earlier this year. For those who might not be aware, employees in Schedule 1 will not work unless assigned to a bed, but they took up a ton of room, especially when some properties can hold up to ten employees. To rectify this, Tyler adjusted the feature into lockers, which work exactly the same, but come with more storage space to pay employees and take up less room at a property.
Tyler has also been occasionally live-streaming the development process for new updates, and recently outlined the full release timeline and future content plans for Schedule 1. According to the dev, the game’s full release is still two to three years away, but he has noted that he intends to employ other developers in the near future. While the game’s next big content update will add one of the three aforementioned features, multiple map expansions will also be added to the game in the near future. The first will add more land next to the docks and the mountain behind the bar, while the second will be a whole new island.
