The New Cold Snap map condition for ARC Raiders is posing a serious threat to raiders in the form of frostbite. Staying too long in the cold open will cover your raider in snow as it starts chipping away at their health, one HP per tick. While playing the Cold Snap map condition is certainly rewarding, you’ll need to find a way around the life-threatening frostbite to truly maximize loot in your runs. Here’s a quick guide on how players can cure and prevent frostbite in ARC Raiders.

How to Cure Frostbite in ARC Raiders (Cold Snap Map Condition)

Players can suffer from frostbite in the Cold Snap map condition in ARC Raiders if they stay in the open for around one minute and thirty-five seconds (1m 35s). During this time, the snow will slowly start accumulating in your raider, and they’ll start shivering in the cold before finally receiving constant damage to their health bar (One HP per tick every second).

After suffering from frostbite, there are two courses of action players can take.

Either keep using bandages, Vita Spray, or Vita Shots to keep topping up your health bar. However, this is only a short-term solution as you’ll continue to receive damage in the form of ticks every second you’re out in the cold.

The second and intended way to cure frostbite in ARC Raiders is to simply take shelter in a building or a structure with a roof. You’ll know that your raider is in a warm area when they take an audible sigh of relief. Once you step out into the cold again, your raider will gasp in discomfort, indicating that the frostbite buildup has begun again.

To counteract the loss of HP, you’ll need to take a lot of healing items like Bandages, Herbal Bandages, Sterilized Bandages, Vita Shots, or a Vita Spray with you.

Alternatively, you can equip the Combat MK.2 Augment, which will passively regenerate one HP per five seconds, given you haven’t taken damage from any sources (frostbite ticks count as damage). This will be incredibly useful in recovering your HP bar when you’ve taken shelter, saving you the trouble of eating through your healing supply.

How to Remove Frostbite Instantly in ARC Raiders

If you’re stuck out in the open and want to immediately remove Frostbite in ARC Raiders, you can set your raider on fire. No, it’s not a joke, hear me out. You can activate a Baron Husk and step into its flame, or simply rely on a throwable like a Blaze Grenade or a Fireball Burner.

As soon as your raider catches fire, let it extinguish itself and immediately use healing items and a shield recharger to recover lost HP. While this may be counterintuitive, it will immediately remove the frostbite damaging ticks and allow your raider to travel further in the open without needing shelter.
