One Piece stands as one of the most recognizable and beloved Japanese properties of all-time. The series follows aspiring pirate adventurer Monkey D. Luffy on a journey to reach the Grand Line and find the titular treasure, becoming the new “King of the Pirates.” The One Piece manga has run for more than 1,100 chapters since its debut in 1997, and the long-running anime adaptation has aired a similar number of episodes. A passionate fan is now showing off a stunning homage to the franchise’s earliest days, recreating the Straw Hats’ first ship in Pokopia.

The incredible One Piece-themed Pokopia build was an instant hit with other fans in the Facebook group. Many fans expressed their adoration for the One Piece build, suggesting that they planned to build similar tributes to the anime, like Buggy the Clown’s ship. Some fans suggested that the Going Merry shouldn’t be the last One Piece project from the creator, urging them to build the Thousand Sunny, the second ship used by the Straw Hats. One fan even expressed their desire to see an iconic location from another popular anime recreated in Pokopia, wanting to see Demon Slayer’s Infinity Castle in the game.
The One Piece tribute comes as multiple big projects are on the way for the beloved anime franchise. One Piece is gearing up to launch its twelfth season in April with the beginning of the Elbaf Arc, seeing Luffy and crew head to the giant-inhabited country. The franchise is also preparing for the launch of a brand-new spinoff, debuting One Piece: Heroines as a series centered around the main female cast, including Nami and Nico Robin. WIT Studio is continuing to develop its remake of One Piece as well, with a tighter narrative that cuts out much of the filler content in the anime.
One Piece’s iconic status made it an easy fit for a stunning fan tribute in a game like Pokopia. The Pokemon spin-off has already seen plenty of fans creating homages to the franchise’s past, ranging from Pokemon Gold and Silver’s Bell Tower to the entire Kanto region. Pokopia has even seen some players share their Pokemon-themed reimagining of real-world locations, including one Pokopia fan recreating an Olive Garden restaurant. Pokopia continues to inspire one fan after another to craft some truly impressive builds within the sandbox game.
