To get more equipment slots in The Adventures of Elliot, complete the Novice’s Trial and the Sophomore’s Trial in the Temple of Trials. You can find the temple in the Age of Safekeeping located between the swamp and the desert. Keep heading west from the kingdom to eventually find it.

The Novice’s Trial costs 50 Tul to participate. Some stages are full of enemies, while in others you need to face an old boss. It doesn’t matter what score you achieve, as long as you complete the trial. Resurrecting Elliot through Faie’s powers is not possible, so dying means you repeat the trial from the start.

When you successfully complete the Novice’s Trial, Elliot gets the Warrior’s Mark, which unlocks the second equipment slot, as the first one is automatically available.

The Sophomore’s Trial is not accessible until you visit the Age of Budding, which happens around mid-to-late game.

Return to the Temple of Trials and pay 100 Tul to undergo the second trial and obtain the Seasoned Warrior’s Mark. Now, Elliot should have all three equipment slots available.
