Final Fantasy Fans Should Circle July 25 On Their Calendar

On Saturday, July 25, Final Fantasy will host the Berlin FanFest event to share more news about the upcoming Final Fantasy 14: Evercold expansion and other features. Final Fantasy fans unable to attend the festivities can still tune into the main keynote address and other panels hosted by FF14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida.

At the Anaheim FanFest event held in late April, Final Fantasy 14 revealed Evercold, the game’s sixth expansion. Set following the events of Dawntrail, Evercold will take the Warrior of Light and their allies to a frozen land known as the Fourth Reflection. Evercold will introduce several changes to Final Fantasy 14, including endgame gear progression and a new Evolved Mode combat style. Final Fantasy 14: Evercold is set to launch on all current-gen platforms sometime in January 2027.

July 25 is a Big Day for Final Fantasy 14 Fans

Soon, Final Fantasy 14 players across the globe will convene in Berlin to hear more details about the game’s future. The Berlin FanFest keynote, hosted by Yoshida, will begin on Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 AM CEST, or 4:00 AM Eastern. The keynote will see Yoshida discuss more details about Evercold, including the reveal of one of the two planned new Jobs coming to Final Fantasy 14 early next year. Either a Tank or a Physical Ranged DPS Job will be shown off during the Berlin FanFest keynote, while the other new Evercold Job will likely be kept under wraps until the Tokyo FanFest in October. Additional details about Final Fantasy 14’s Evolved Mode combat and the zones players will explore during Evercold will likely be shared during the keynote.

Players who are unable to attend Berlin FanFest can watch the keynote and other panels live and on-demand for free via Final Fantasy 14’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. During the Anaheim FanFest, Yoshida wore a T-shirt featuring Rhitahtyn sas Arvina, a minor antagonist from A Realm Reborn. Given Yoshida’s history of using T-shirts to hint at FF14 expansion features, it is currently unclear what the Rhitahtyn shirt means for Evercold. Additionally, Evercold’s 8-player raid series will be revealed during the keynote. Given that Final Fantasy 14 revealed a crossover alliance raid series with Evangelion during the Anaheim FanFest, it remains to be seen what surprises FF14’s raid development team has planned.

However, Evercold will not be the only topic discussed during the Berlin FanFest event. Yoshida will be joined by FF14 global community producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi and lead battle content designer Masaki “Mr. Ozma” Nakagawa for the 93rd Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast at 4:30 PM CEST, or 9:30 AM Eastern. The Live Letter will be dedicated to Final Fantasy 14’s Beastmaster Limited Job and other miscellaneous updates.

The Beastmaster is currently set to arrive in Patch 7.56 on Tuesday, September 8. Additionally, Final Fantasy 14’s next content update, Patch 7.55, will hit live servers on Tuesday, July 28, just days after Berlin FanFest concludes. Between FanFest and the upcoming Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy 14, fans of the Final Fantasy franchise are in for a busy summer.
