Scholastic – Shares for the publisher of children’s books slid over 10% after the company posted a loss in the fiscal first quarter. Scholastic reported an adjusted loss of $3.63 per share, compared to the $2.52 per share loss in the year-ago period. Revenue of $216.8 million reflected a 4% decline from a year earlier. Synopsys – The software company gained over 3% in premarket trading after HSBC upgraded Synopsys to buy from hold. HSBC’s Frank Lee noted the company’s new business model will make Synopsys a “high-growth AI beneficiary.” Nike – Shares for the athletic apparel company slid nearly 2% after Bank of America downgraded the company to underperform from neutral, expecting sales declines from the second quarter through the rest of fiscal 2027. Costco Wholesale — Shares were down slightly even after the company reported better-than-expected results for the fiscal fourth quarter. Costco earned an adjusted $6.60 per share on revenue of $95.72 billion.
