Boruto: Two Blue Vortex awaits the release of its 38th chapter on October 20, 2026, and in doing so, it is set to shed light on Konoha’s next generation of ninjas once more.
With Sarada Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki directly being focused on by Mikio Ikemoto, the author of the series, and with Konoha undergoing a massive reshuffle at the moment, there is a need for powerful ninjas from within their ranks to emerge. As it so happens, Mikio Ikemoto has officially lined up Konoha’s next most powerful ninja god, who has inherited this unofficial title from the likes of Naruto Uzumaki and many other legends before him. This new powerful ninja god who stands atop all ninjas at the moment is none other than Naruto’s own son, Boruto Uzumaki.
Kishimoto Officially Sets Up Boruto Uzumaki As The New Ninja God Of Konoha
In the history of Konoha, only two individuals have held the title of God of Shinobi — the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, and the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Hashirama Senju attained this title long ago during the Warring States Period. This was down to his immense strength, which stemmed from being the reincarnation of Asura, as well as his immense control over all five nature transformations and the ability of Wood Release. Hashirama was quite easily the strongest of his generation, edging out even the likes of Madara Uchiha.
“He was Senju “Wood Release” Hashirama. He was the man who stood atop the Ninja World, and the man that I respected the most.” — Madara Uchiha introduces Hashirama, Naruto Chapter #398
One generation later, Hiruzen Sarutobi popped up and was famed all over the world as The Professor. It was stated that he had knowledge of the vast majority of the jutsu in existence and that he could perform all the jutsu in Konoha at the same time. His strength was hyped up by many to be even greater than that of the First Hokage, although feats prove otherwise. Regardless, Hiruzen’s status all across the world as God of Shinobi is unchallenged, and even in old age he was considered to be the strongest among the Five Kage.
While Hiruzen and Hashirama were certainly Gods of Shinobi, they were certainly not the strongest that the shinobi kind has seen. Both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha went on to reach significantly higher levels in the Fourth Great Ninja War and became literal Gods, wielding half the chakra of the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Naturally, any ninja on their level is automatically considered a God-level shinobi.
“So one obtained the Senjutsu of the Six Paths, and one obtained the Rinnegan. Too bad, I’ve got both of those powers at the same time!” — Madara reveals Naruto and Sasuke’s new powers, Naruto Chapter #673
Now that both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha are out of the main plotline in the Boruto series, it is time for the young Boruto to step up. At the moment, the only true Konoha shinobi who is worthy of wielding the title of God of Shinobi is Boruto Uzumaki. Not only is Boruto the strongest shinobi in the entire world, but he is doing what his father and his mentor would have done to protect Konoha and defend the entire shinobi-kind against the threat of the Shinju and the Otsutsuki. Boruto Uzumaki is thus the new shinobi god of Konoha, who, despite being hated by everyone, is doing his utmost best to protect them.
Why Boruto Uzumaki Can Surpass His Father Naruto
Konoha’s greatest shinobi god of all time is none other than Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage. Naruto reached tremendously high levels of strength in the Fourth Great Ninja War, but it wasn’t until the release of Boruto Chapter 52 on November 19, 2020, that he peaked as a fighter. In this chapter, Naruto Uzumaki unleashed the power of Baryon Mode for the very first time.

Boruto Officially Unveils The Permanent Replacement For Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto Uzumaki has been replaced by a new Kurama user, even stronger.
“This is a completely different beast. The other modes involve taking chakra that you acquire from elsewhere and just using it. Here, yours and my chakra are used as raw materials to create a different form of energy, until both of our lives run out.” — Kurama explains Baryon Mode, Boruto Chapter #52
Unfortunately, chapter 55 of the series, released on February 19, 2021, in V-Jump Issue 4, saw to it that Naruto lost the power of Kurama, along with all the Tailed Beast Chakra that he had left in him. This nerfed Naruto Uzumaki tremendously, and he was subsequently sealed in Boruto chapter 77 by Kawaki on June 19, 2023.
At the moment, Boruto Uzumaki stands as the protector of Konoha in the absence of his father and his mentor. What’s more, he has in him the potential to surpass the Seventh Hokage in just about every way. Not only is Boruto a student of Sasuke, wielding all his techniques, but he has also been trained by Kashin Koji, making him a superhuman. At the same time, Boruto recently entered a contract with Momoshiki Otsutsuki in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 28, which was officially released on November 19, 2025. With this new power, Boruto Uzumaki is now operating at a level where even Six Paths Naruto can’t compete.
“If we’re able to take down Jura, I’ll give you my body. You can tell, can’t you… that I’m serious?” — Boruto Uzumaki and Momoshiki make a pact, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #28
Boruto’s End Of Series God Level In Two Blue Vortex
As we head into Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 38 on October 20, 2026, it is clear to see that Boruto Uzumaki has matured into a phenomenal shinobi with tremendous strength up his sleeve. However, it is also incredibly clear to us that he is far from his peak. Boruto Uzumaki has yet to attain full mastery over the powers of Momoshiki Otsutsuki. He has not fully tapped into the powers of the Byakugan and, at the same time, has not mastered the vast majority of his other jutsu, such as the Flying Thunder God.
With time, Boruto will continue to grow in terms of strength, and after his battle against Kawaki, he will have peaked as a ninja. Upon hitting his peak, Boruto Uzumaki will surely be even above the levels of Baryon Mode Naruto, which would officially make him the strongest ninja in the history of all shinobi.
We are eagerly waiting to see Boruto’s progression in the next couple of arcs, and hopefully, he can live up to the standard set by his own father. At the same time, we are also eagerly awaiting the return of both Naruto and Sasuke and hope to see them on the battlefield once again, wielding new abilities of the likes of which we’ve never seen before. Hopefully, Mikio Ikemoto is able to deliver upon these promises, but for now, all our focus is on Boruto: TBV Chapter 38, which is sure to push the next generation ninjas of Sarada and Boruto to the next level.
The latest chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex by Mikio Ikemoto, supervised by Masashi Kishimoto, are available to read via Manga Plus and Viz Media.
