Instinct, a startup founded only last year and helmed by a 23-year-old, has managed to ride the wave of AI enthusiasm toward a gargantuan valuation over the course of the summer. The company, which offers an AI assistant that has inspired enthusiasm among its early users, told the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday that it had raised $250 million in a recent Series B funding round. That new round brings the company’s total funding to $350 million and gives the startup a valuation of $2.5 billion. Amazon and Nvidia just got a lot closer. The two companies announced Wednesday an expanded partnership that includes a deal to add another 2 million Nvidia GPU chips to Amazon’s data centers. These GPUs, which are designed to handle the heavy compute demands of training and running AI models, include Nvidia Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra GPUs. The chips will head to Amazon Web Services’ data centers in 2027 and 2028.  The announcement, made during Nvidia’s quarterly earnings call, comes just five months after Amazon agreed to deploy more than 1 million Nvidia GPUs across AWS infrastructure starting this year.…

Better Mortgage and Coinbase have made their Bitcoin-backed mortgage product generally available, allowing US homebuyers to pledge Bitcoin as collateral for a down payment without selling it, the companies announced Wednesday.According to Coinbase’s Help Center, the product pairs a Fannie Mae-backed home loan with a separate down payment loan secured by Bitcoin (BTC). Borrowers must pledge BTC worth at least 250% of the down payment loan, with the pledged BTC transferred to Better’s custodial account on Coinbase Prime.The two loans carry the same interest rate and amortization term and are repaid through a single monthly payment, Coinbase said. “Rocky Horror Picture Show” star Tim Curry has died. He was 80. Curry died late Tuesday night in his Los Angeles home, according to TMZ, 14 years after he suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed.
