Sung Jinwoo is one of the most overpowered new-gen anime protagonists. Hailing from the world of Solo Leveling, Jinwoo is a one-man army capable of standing up against gods with limitless powers. It’s no surprise that Jinwoo has become synonymous with invincibility, courtesy of the overwhelming Shadow Monarch powers he inherited from Ashborn.

Solo Leveling’s Sung Jinwoo Has Officially Been Beaten By An Overpowered MC
Jinwoo is strong, but he is far from being anime’s strongest MC.
Undeniably, Solo Leveling’s Sung Jinwoo is one of the most difficult anime characters to defeat in battle. Even these overpowered new-gen anime villains would struggle to outpace Jinwoo, not only because they are completely outscaled, but also because they have no answer to his ever-evolving powers.

Number 6 Is No Match for Jinwoo
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes’ High-Speed Villain
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes delivers a troublesome villain in Number 6. Armed with multiple Quirks, Number 6 aims to possess an identity he can call his own through relentless evolution and the pursuit of ultimate power. His body has been extensively experimented on, altering its physiology with bomber cells that drastically increase his pain tolerance.
Coupled with the Bombify and Overclock Quirks, Number 6 can overwhelm his opponents at blinding speed while growing bombs all over his body, which he can detonate at will. Despite his remarkable abilities, Number 6 would pose little challenge to Sung Jinwoo, whose entire body has been acclimatized to withstand attacks from beings capable of destroying the world instantaneously.

Jabber Wonger’s Vital Instrument Would Be Useless Against Jinwoo
Gachiakuta’s Exceptional Mankira User
Gachiakuta’s Jabber Wonger would have a blast fighting an overpowered hunter like Sung Jinwoo. He enjoys fighting opponents who are far superior to him, taking pleasure in the thrill of the fight and the injuries he sustains. He wields an incredibly powerful vital instrument called Mankira, which grants him lethal claws or talons packed with neurotoxins and different types of poison.
Clearly, Jabber Wonger’s worst opponent on the battlefield would be Sung Jinwoo, someone who has complete immunity against poison and other forms of status debuffs. As soon as Jabber Wonger’s Mankira hit Jinwoo, his body would instantly neutralize its toxins as if they had never affected him.

Curse and Magic Couldn’t Save Macht From Jinwoo
Frieren’s Strongest Sage of Destruction
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End introduced readers to the incredibly powerful villain Macht of El Dorado during the popular Golden Land Arc. As the strongest member of the Seven Sages of Destruction, he is the greatest threat to humanity, second only to the Demon King itself. His magic prowess is worthy of his title, and he was one of the few characters in the series who successfully defeated Frieren at one point.
In a single touch, Macht could turn an entire city, or even a massive plateau, into gold. He is so strong that the only way to keep him in check is to forcefully seal him. Even his peers are afraid of him. Despite this, Macht facing Jinwoo would be a death sentence, especially with Kargalgan defending him with his god-tier magic powers and his orb of avarice.

Evil Eye Would Become Jinwoo’s Next Shadow
Dan Da Dan’s Vengeful Yokai
In Dandadan, Okarun faced the Evil Eye, a vengeful yokai born from the lingering grudges of countless sacrificed victims. After possessing Jiji, the Evil Eye becomes one of the series’ most formidable supernatural beings, overwhelming Okarun and Momo with its explosive speed, immense strength, and exceptional combat prowess.
Among its terrifying abilities, the Evil Eye’s Grudge Ball is one of its deadliest techniques, relentlessly bouncing around the battlefield and pursuing its targets for as long as they remain alive. Even if the Evil Eye confronted Jinwoo at full power, Tank or Iron would likely be enough to handle it due to the vast gap in their power. In the worst-case scenario, Jinwoo could even turn Evil Eye into one of his replaceable shadow soldiers.

Kaiju No. 9’s Near-Limitless Evolution Would End Against Jinwoo
Kaiju No. 8’s King of Kaiju
Much like Sung Jinwoo, Kaiju No. 9’s evolution is near-limitless. He can fuse with another Kaiju, absorbing their powers in the process. He also holds unconventional powers like Kaiju Creation and Kaiju Kinesis, making him worthy of the title “King of Kaiju.” He can even resurrect a dead Kaiju and make them stronger than ever, forcing the members of the Defense Force to the brink of death multiple times.
However, Sung Jinwoo has countless experiences fighting unconventional monsters like Kaiju No. 9, who also possess a high level of intelligence. Sending his elite shadows alone would easily decimate Kaiju No. 9’s army of kaiju, especially when led by the likes of Beru, Bellion, or Igris, who would stop at nothing to bring honor to Jinwoo’s name.

Jinwoo Would End Toichiro Suzuki’s World-Conquering Dream
Mob Psycho 100’s Overpowered Esper
Mob Psycho 100’s powerful esper villain, Toichiro Suzuki, can easily change the terrain of the battlefield with his monstrous abilities. His dream of conquering the world is not far from reality, especially considering that even Mob at 100% admitted he could not defeat him on his own. With his godlike esper abilities, Toichiro can unleash elemental-based attacks, maintain automatic psychic barriers, and even absorb psychic energy from other espers, storing it for later use.
However, Sung Jinwoo’s telekinetic abilities are on another level of their own. With Ruler’s Authority, Jinwoo can pin Toichiro down with a crushing telekinetic force, potentially pushing him to overexert his psychic abilities in an attempt to escape. On top of that, Jinwoo could rely on his shadow army to keep relentless pressure on Toichiro, assuming he chooses to spare his life long enough for the battle to continue.

Even Full-Power Sukuna Would Lose to Sung Jinwoo
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Strongest Sorcerer
Ryomen Sukuna has become an extremely difficult villain to deal with in Jujutsu Kaisen. Even with fewer fingers consumed, he could still win against Jogo, an incredibly powerful cursed spirit, without revealing his true power. As the strongest jujutsu sorcerer in history, Sukuna ultimately surpassed almost everyone in power, including the infamous Gojo Satoru.
Armed with near-limitless cursed energy, devastating cursed techniques, and one of the deadliest Domain Expansions in the series, Sukuna single-handedly turned the jujutsu world upside down. However, even at the height of his power with all 20 fingers restored, Sukuna still falls short of overpowering Jinwoo, who has ascended to a godlike level of strength capable of defeating even the gods of creation on his own.

Rien’s Tao Mastery Couldn’t Overcome Jinwoo
Hell’s Paradise’s Strongest Tensen
Hell’s Paradise is ruled by an overpowered villain who has mastered the art of Tao. Rien, the strongest member of the Lord Tensen, is a near-immortal being that humans view as a divine entity. She seeks to resurrect her late husband by obtaining the Elixir of Life through the sacrifice of countless human lives.
Rien has been around for thousands of years, making her an incredibly formidable villain with centuries of accumulated Tao knowledge and combat experience. Unfortunately, much like any new-gen anime villain on this list, Rien’s strongest form, Kishikai, wouldn’t last long against someone like Sung Jinwoo, who evolves mid-battle. Even her puppet clones wouldn’t fare well against Jinwoo’s shadow army, which he could sustain with his near-limitless mana reserves.

All For One’s Multiple Quirks Can’t Beat Jinwoo
All Might’s Nemesis in My Hero Academia
Putting All For One to rest in My Hero Academia was an incredibly difficult undertaking. It took several of the world’s most powerful heroes to work together to weaken him throughout the series. Even All Might in his prime struggled against All For One, suffering life-altering injuries that ultimately forced him into an early retirement. With countless Quirks at his disposal, All For One has become an absolute force of nature in the series.
However, only a handful of shonen anime villains could stand a chance against Solo Leveling’s Sung Jinwoo, and All For One is unfortunately not one of them. He scales lower than Sung Jinwoo, whose vastly superior command over darkness, shadows, and the dead allows him to overwhelm opponents far beyond All For One’s level.

Innocent Zero’s Divine-Level Magic Would Be Too Weak Against Jinwoo
Mash Burnedead’s Overpowered Father in Mashle
A fight between Mashle’s Innocent Zero and Sung Jinwoo would be interesting and would certainly be an intriguing matchup, given their shared command over darkness and their formidable summons. Innocent Zero also wields Timez Magic, granting him complete control over time. He can even extend its effects to his own body, causing anyone who makes physical contact with him to age rapidly.
As if that weren’t enough, Innocent Zero can transform into a demon and eventually attain a perfected form that elevates him to a godlike level of power. However, Sung Jinwoo has every answer to his abilities, starting from his divine constitution that prevents him from aging to his shadow army that could overpower Innocent Zero’s summons, such as Lucifer and Uranus.
