Dragon Ball Super: Beerus starts on October 11, once again retelling the Battle of Gods arc. In this saga, Goku achieves Super Saiyan God, allowing him to put up a fight against Beerus. While this form is cool as hell, it is far from the most powerful Saiyan transformation, especially when you consider the multiverse. In Dragon Ball releases like Xenoverse and Heroes, Goku, Vegeta, and others unlock forms so broken they can neverappear in the official series.
Look, I know that Dragon Ball tends to hit the “transform” button a bit too often, and the extended universe is particularly guilty of cycling through power-ups. However, I’m apparently easy to please, as I always get a bit excited whenever Goku tries out a new hairstyle. All these Saiyan transformations are introduced in games, and none of them are canon. They are still awesome, though.

Saiyan Villainous Mode Is Exactly What You Think It Is
What If Vegeta Was A Supervillain? Well, What If He Remained One, Anyway?
Xenoverse, but a similar variant appears in DBZ Kakarot and Heroes.
OK, let’s get through the most basic Saiyan transformation: the evil one. In the Xenoverse games, Towa and Demigra find ways to put characters under their spell, activating what is known as “Villainous Mode”. For the most part, they target villains like Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, and Super 17, but they also get a couple of Z Fighters. Vegeta, Gotenks, Trunks, Gohan, Broly, and Raditz all enter Villainous mode at one point or another.
This form goes through a couple of stages, with the final one elevating the character into true “Supervillain” territory. Honestly, this transformation isn’t particularly exciting or original, and the Saiyans don’t look all that different beyond changing the colors of their aura and eyes. Still, Villainous Mode boosts its victims’ power by quite a bit.

Super Saiyan Blue Controlled Berserk Is So Vegeta
The Prince Refuses To Be Mind-Controlled Again

Although not yet adapted into the anime, Vegeta transcends Super Saiyan Blue in the Dragon Ball Super manga, achieving Ultra Ego, which taps into his unquestionable arrogance and anger. But for my money, the Saiyan Prince’s most visually striking transformation doesn’t even happen in the official story.
Dragon Ball Heroes introduces an ancient Saiyan called Cumber, whose overwhelming Ki influences anyone who touches it, turning them into berserk versions of themselves. Basically, they lose all sense of reason and start attacking everyone. In the game’s promotional anime, this happens to Goku and Vegeta at the same time, though it lasts only a couple of minutes.
Later, Vegeta comes into contact with the evil Ki again and goes berserk, only for the prince to preserve his consciousness and stay completely in control. Through Broly and Kale, Dragon Ball shows both the strengths and weaknesses of Saiyan berserkers, and this form lets Vegeta keep the former and eliminate the latter.

Goku Black’s Super Saiyan Rosé 3 Looks Cool As Hell
The Crimson-Masked Saiyan Unleashes His Full Power

In Dragon Ball Super, Goku Black doesn’t explore any of the numbered Saiyan transformations, as his standard Super Saiyan Rosé serves as his divine alternative to Super Saiyan Blue. Naturally, Dragon Ball Heroes fixed that by allowing Goku Black to fully let his hair down. Super Saiyan Rosé 3 delivers exactly what it promises: Goku’s SS3, but pink. Right before this form, he cycles through Super Saiyan Rosé 2, which also looks fantastic.
As much as I love the transformation, Super Saiyan 3 is undeniably Goku’s most flawed canon form. Not only does it accomplish nothing, but its stamina and Ki requirements are so severe that a living body can barely last a couple of minutes. As Goku Black achieves this form after Fu augments his body to avoid Ki leakage, Super Saiyan Rosé 3 circumvents the canon form’s issues, allowing him to go toe-to-toe with SS4 Xeno Bardock.
Goku Black also pushes SSR3 to its absolute limit, reaching his “Full Power” mode, which makes him grow a Saiyan tail.

Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Perfects The Saiyan Bloodline
The Ultimate Saiyan Transformation
Introduced in Dragon Ball Heroes
You know things are about to get real when a transformation’s name becomes as long as an isekai anime’s title. At a glance, Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker might seem like a collection of buzzwords, but it is much more than that. In some ways, this form represents the absolute peak of the Saiyan race.
This transformation essentially combines Super Saiyan 4 and Super Saiyan God; basically, SS4 Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta conduct a ritual that lets them absorb the energy of four Saiyans with a lot of Ki. Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta’s SS4 forms get a stunning visual makeover, along with the ability to properly stabilize their energy. Limit Breaker lets its user go all-out without risking a quick burnout, which tends to happen with SS4.
Broly achieves this transformation without a ritual. He’s just built different.

Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue Universe Tree Power Is Unfathomable Levels Of OP
That Time Goku Became The Multiverse

There are overpowered transformations, then there is this monstrosity. In Heroes, Goku defeats Fu by pulling off the highest raw-scale Saiyan transformation ever conceived in any Dragon Ball media, one that cannot be surpassed. The full backstory is complicated, but the short version is that Goku absorbs the life force and Ki of the entire multiverse.
Remember that part in the Buu Saga when Goku creates a Spirit Bomb using the energy of the people on Earth? Well, this is sort of like that, only magnified by near infinity. Unlike that DBZ moment, Goku funnels the Universe Tree’s Ki into his body rather than into a single attack, allowing for a proper transformation.
