A new rumor indicates that Fortnite could be partnering with Minecraft, one of the biggest video games of all time. Fortnite and Minecraft have been a frequent request for crossovers from many fans of both series, and it now looks like it could be happening.

Fortnite has become something of a hub nexus between a practically endless list of media franchises. Whether it’s games, anime, movies, comic books, TV shows, real people, or something else, Fortnite has collided with tons of famous names over the years. The collab train never seems to stop for Fortnite, and now a leak indicates that Minecraft could be on the list.

A massively popular new game is giving off serious Minecraft vibes, and it could be set to come to the PlayStation 5 in the future.

Fortnite x Minecraft Collab Could Be in the Works, But…

A recent rumor has surfaced indicating that Fortnite and Minecraft are currently working together to make a new collab. The information was initially shared by a Fortnite leaker called Adira, and re-tweeted by HYPEX, who has an established history of sharing or revealing accurate Fortnite rumors and leaks. While there isn’t concrete proof, Adira says they’re confident in the rumor, giving it an 90% chance of being accurate.

However, gamers may have a long time to wait still until the collab actually happens. Adira indicates that the development of this crossover is still in the early stages, and that it could be “many months” until it actually reaches the game. They suggest that it could land sometime during Fortnite Chapter 7. Chapter 7 Season 1 won’t end until March, and Fortnite has recently revealed when all the updates for the game should land during 2026, giving some clues to fans as to how long Chapter 7 will last. Players have done estimations based on prior chapters and seasons of the game, and it’s strongly believed that Chapter 8 will land in late November. If both the rumor and the estimation end up being accurate, that means players could end up waiting for a Minecraft crossover for up to 10 months.

The Fortnite Leaks (and Crossovers) Don’t Stop

Fortnite leaks and rumors are frequent, and often accurately share what’s coming up in the game. For example, it was leaked that the anime Bleach and Fortnite would collab in early December, and later the same month, the crossover kicked off. Fortnite crossovers like those with South Park, Scooby-Doo, and The Simpsons were rumored in advance of their launches, as well. Of course, not every rumor ends up being accurate, while some may simply have not launched yet.

Minecraft isn’t the only major property crossover rumored to be happening this year in Fortnite, either. More anime is likely on the way, as a collab between Fortnite and Solo Leveling has been rumored, as well as one for Chainsaw Man. Other collaborations have been confirmed for the year, like Fortnite and Resident Evil Requiem, but Fortnite will likely keep reveals of many of its crossovers under wraps until their start date is relatively close.

Minecraft Remains Fresh

Minecraft is eight years older than Fortnite, but still has a very sizable playerbase to this day. Minecraft itself is no stranger to collabs, with collaborations bringing items and DLC from How to Train Your Dragon, Adidas, and even Walmart to Minecraft in 2025, to name a few. Part of what keeps the game appealing is the ability to build and produce just about anything a player can set their mind to, but it also sees regular updates and content additions that expand the possibilities further. Minecraft has revealed its first game drop of 2026, which is changing the way that baby farm mobs look with brand-new models and some new audio clips. Further, name tags have been made a lot easier to acquire, as they can now be crafted, so players won’t have to hunt for drops.

Regular updates keep both Minecraft and Fortnite fun and interesting for players, and neither game shows signs of slowing down anytime soon.
