A 20-year-old man and his 18-year-old girlfriend were shot dead in a Queens apartment early Wednesday in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide, police said.

The two were heard arguing inside an apartment on 84th St. near 34th Ave. in Jackson Heights at about 1:50 a.m. when several shots went off, a police source said.

The man’s 19-year-old brother — who was inside the sixth-floor apartment but in another room — and a neighbor called 911 when they heard the shots.

When police responded, they found the young woman dead from gunshots to the head, chest, and stomach. Her boyfriend suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Police believe the man shot his girlfriend, then turned the gun on himself. Their names were not immediately released.

Both of them died at the scene. The city medical examiner will conduct an autopsy on both of them to confirm how they died.

The murder weapon along with bullets were recovered by cops from the scene.

There was no immediate indication that cops had been previously called to the apartment to calm disputes between the couple.

“Devastating news out of Jackson Heights early this morning,” state Sen. Jessica Ramos (D-Queens) wrote on X. “Two very young people are dead in what authorities are investigating as a possible murder-suicide connected to domestic violence … Domestic violence is real and too often escalates to tragedy.”

Neighbors were shocked by the shooting.

“I’m sorry to hear that. Something must have went wrong,” said neighbor Michael Tang, 70, “The young man, he was a friendly person. He said he found a job. … He started working at a local store, and he joked that he could bike to work.”

“I heard a loud bang last night,” said neighbor Azay Gu, 38, who lives on the fifth floor. “I didn’t know what happened. I was shocked it happened. It’s just sad. It’s sad hearing stuff like this happen, especially this being close to where I live.”
