It’s been over ten years since Yacht Club Games graced the world with Shovel Knight, an indie title that has become a classic platformer. Now, the team is releasing its next brand-new adventure in the form of Mina the Hollower, another hard-as-nails sprite-based Zelda and Dark Souls-inspired title.
With its reviews already putting it at one of the highest-rated games of 2026 so far, you will not want to miss out on this one. I’ve put in almost 20 hours of my own playing it for GameRant’s guide coverage, and it’s been nothing but a joy. If you can’t wait to get your hands on Mina the Hollower, the game is set to release at midnight Eastern time on May 29, but for more details for other time zones, keep reading!

Is Mina the Hollower Coming to Game Pass?
As of the time of writing, Yacht Club Games has not confirmed a Game Pass release for Mina the Hollower. Maybe down the line, we’ll see it come to the subscription service, but it could take time.
Is Mina the Hollower Hard?
Since it draws inspiration from the Dark Souls franchise, Mina the Hollower can be challenging. Enemies can be punishing, and you can lose your hard-earned Bones (currency) if you die too many times. That said, the developers are giving players tons of customization options for difficulty modifiers. You can either make the game much easier or even harder if you want an extra challenge. However, you won’t earn achievements or trophies if you toggle the modifiers on.
