New Borderlands Shift Code Gets You a Ton of Free Keys

The Borderlands series has shared a new SHiFT code that can be redeemed for an incredible 75 Golden Keys and 20 Diamond Keys. Fans of the Borderlands franchise who are replaying games or checking out some that they missed in the lead-up to Borderlands 4’s release won’t want to miss out on this opportunity.

While the rumors that Borderlands 4’s release date had been moved to make way for fellow Take-Two franchise Grand Theft Auto are false, players nonetheless don’t have too much longer to wait for the looter shooter sequel. Borderlands 4 is set to release in September, making this a perfect time to revisit the 15-year-old franchise.

During a PAX East livestream about Borderlands 4, a brief glimpse at a shirt revealed a new SHiFT code: SFXJT-S3XS3-3T3JT-33BTJ-R33JJ. This code can be redeemed to unlock a whopping 75 Golden Keys in multiple Borderlands entries, and 20 Diamond Keys in Borderlands 3. Golden Key opportunities have been around for a long time, but Diamond Keys were unique to Borderlands 3, where they can open up an entire room full of loot. On top of that, the room will contain a chest that will always hold at least one piece of Legendary-tier loot, so players are guaranteed to bring home at least 20 Legendaries if they redeem this code.

Borderlands Fans Can Expect Plenty of Keys

With the next entry in the franchise still several months away, players can expect the Golden Key hype train to continue. In fact, Borderlands 4 already has a Golden Key opportunity that also unlocks a free weapon skin for players after the game launches. Meanwhile, anyone who misses out on codes for the existing Borderlands games shouldn’t worry too much, as the Borderlands franchise tends to drop Golden Key codes on a regular basis, especially in the lead-up to a new game coming out.

While there are some concerns and mixed opinions on things like Borderlands 4’s UI, in general, the community seems excited for the next chapter of the vault hunting looter shooter. In addition to a new team of vault hunters, Borderlands 4 will introduce a new planet, Kairos, a new villain called the Timekeeper, and changes to weaponry, including how weapons work and how often Legendaries drop. Whether these new additions and alterations improve upon the formula or weaken it remains to be seen, but for now, fans of the original Gearbox Borderlands games have plenty of fresh loot to keep them occupied.
