Elden Ring Nightreign DLC Nightfarer Wish List

One of the greatest strengths of Elden Ring Nightreign is its sizable collection of distinct character classes. There are a total of eight Nightfarers in Nightreign, each one coming their own unique set of abilities, starting armaments, proficiencies, and a distinct visual design. These Nightfarers might look like traditional fantasy RPG archetypes like the barbarian and sorcerer, but each one has at least one special twist up their sleeves.

Take Elden Ring Nightreign’s Recluse, for example. While she might look like an average Soulslike sorcerer, her Magic Cocktail skill allows her to harvest the magical essence of enemies and deliver a powerful counterattack. FromSoftware has already confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign is getting DLC later this year and while the game’s starting roster is strong, it could be made even stronger with a few additional Nightfarers.

An Even More Experimental Magic-User

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Recluse does a great job of shaking up FromSoft’s usual sorcerer archetype. Though she has the ability to cast spells from her staff like usual, her Magic Cocktail skill gives her a layer of depth not seen before in a FromSoft game. It would be great for Nightreign to add another experimental magic-wielder to the roster. For example, a pyromancer who harvests fire energy from enemy corpses, or a Nightfarer that strictly uses Frenzied Flame attacks would both be exciting additions to the line-up.

A Support-Focused Nightfarer

Along similar lines, it might be fun to see a more support-focused Nightfarer join the Roundtable Hold. While the Recluse’s Ultimate Art grants allies the ability to heal themselves by attacking marked enemies, it could be useful to have a Nightfarer whose entire skillset is based around healing and protecting the team. For instance, this could be a cleric whose Character Skill is an AoE healing incantation, and whose Ultimate Art shields allies and negates all oncoming damage for a few seconds.

A Bloodborne-Like Hunter

While the entire Dark Souls trilogy gets a wealth of shout-outs in Elden Ring Nightreign, Bloodborne is once again left in the dust. Of course, this is likely due to Sony’s ownership of the Bloodborne IP, but it’s still sad to see one of FromSoft’s best games get left behind. That said, FromSoftware could still include a more subtle, disconnected reference to Bloodborne by delivering a DLC Nightfarer inspired by Bloodborne’s Hunter.

Though Nightreign already has the Duchess, whose moveset revolves around taking a few swings and dodging quickly, there’s room for a Nightfarer who comes equipped with a trick weapon. This Bloodborne-inspired Nightfarer could even wield a fantastical gun in one hand, giving players the ability to stagger foes and leave them vulnerable to critical attacks.

A Wretch

The Guardian and Raider act as Elden Ring Nightreign’s tanks, but there’s room on the roster for a glass cannon. Dating all the way back to 2011’s Dark Souls, most FromSoft action-RPGs have featured a class that starts with nothing but a gigantic club and a whole lot of strength. Dark Souls’ Deprived and Elden Ring’s Wretch could form the foundations of a similar class in Nightreign, one that has limited health but can hit absurdly hard.
