Known to be a legend in the world of Naruto and famed across the world as the Ghost of the Uchiha, Madara Uchiha is a brilliant character and one of Kishimoto’s very best. Ever since his proper introduction 15 years ago, in Naruto Chapter 559 on October 31, 2011, during the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara Uchiha has established himself as a phenomenal character, the likes of which hardly anyone can match. The word “strength” itself is synonymous with Madara, and ever since his death at the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, his presence has been felt massively in the Ninja world.
However, in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Konoha is going to receive its own Madara Uchiha at the end of its ongoing Post-Mamushi arc, which is set to continue on September 17, 2026. This new Madara Uchiha is going to be the one whom he himself deemed had a certain blood connection to, and it is none other than Konoha’s Other Hokage, Sasuke Uchiha.
Boruto New Traitor Sasuke Arc Makes Him The Next Madara Uchiha
On March 19, 2023, in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation Chapter 79, one of the most significant events took place in the entire story in the form of Omnipotence. As most fans would know already, Omnipotence is a powerful Shinjutsu originally belonging to Shibai Otsutsuki and is currently being wielded by Eida. This Shinjutsu can do anything that the user wants and bring their deepest desire to reality. Be it altering the entire world or the universe, Shinjutsu can do it all, and that is precisely why, at the end of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 79, it led to places being swapped for Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki.
“Our roles have been reversed. Lord Seventh has died at Boruto’s hands. That’s what you’ll tell everyone.” — Kawaki explains his plan to Eida, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter #79
At the same time, with Sasuke Uchiha protecting Boruto and saving him from certain death, he was also marked as a traitor by the Village. Right now, Sasuke has been turned into a tree, but his freedom is currently being worked upon in the new Boruto arc, which began officially with the release of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 35 on June 18, 2026. This arc is set to continue and will focus on Shinju Hidari, whose fall will eventually free Sasuke Uchiha. However, even after Sasuke is freed, he will still be seen as a traitor to Konoha, making him the biggest Uchiha threat to the village since Madara himself. In other words, Sasuke Uchiha is being set up as the next Madara in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series, and the implications of this are incredibly exciting as far as the overarching plotline of the series is concerned.
“I don’t know what to believe in anymore. So I decided that even if I doubt myself, I’d believe in my daughter Sarada. I shall help you because my daughter wishes it. That is worth risking my life and reputation.” — Sasuke becomes a traitor to Konoha, Boruto Chapter #80
Why Sasuke’s Return In The New Arc Will Give Him A New Power Up
While Sasuke is sure to aid Konoha whenever needed, the world of Ninja will see him as a villain who aided Boruto Uzumaki, the Hokage Killer. It isn’t until Naruto returns that Sasuke’s name will be cleared, but knowing his personality, he would care little about what others think of him. Sasuke Uchiha’s primary goal will be to protect Konoha and carry on the work of his brother, Itachi Uchiha, of protecting the village from the shadows. As such, the next goal for Sasuke Uchiha immediately after returning would be to tackle the threat of Jura or any other Otsutsuki that emerges. In other words, Sasuke Uchiha will be primed for new battles immediately following his return.

“During their training together to get stronger, Boruto and Sasuke’s main food sources were fish and wild birds, which they hunted using Raiton and Shuriken, along with wild plants and mushrooms.” — Mikio Ikemoto confirms Sasuke’s power growth, Boruto Volume #8
What makes this even more exciting is the fact that he has already received significant power-ups by the author. In the timeskip of Boruto, Sasuke Uchiha trained himself with the young Uzumaki and reached a new level of strength. This was directly confirmed in the Boruto Volume 8 release on June 1, 2026. Furthermore, Sasuke’s sword was also significantly upgraded in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28 by none other than Sumire, and when he comes back, he is going to be far stronger than ever before. Sasuke might even go on to receive new power-ups, which will make him the greatest force that stands in the path of Jura and Konoha and grant him an exciting plotline once again. At the same time, in the eyes of Konoha, it will make Sasuke the biggest threat to not just them but the ninja world as a whole, re-establishing his position as the next Madara Uchiha of the modern era.
Sasuke’s Next Power Up Will Make Him An Otsutsuki Level God
At the end of the day, Sasuke Uchiha will have to return to Konoha at some point in time. By the end of the Boruto series, the effects of Omnipotence will have to be reversed, one way or another, and the only one who can do so is Eida. Until that point, Sasuke will have to endure the hatred of the ninja world, just as Madara did a long time ago. Like his brother Itachi, he will have to protect the village from the shadows, setting up one of the most exciting plotlines for the Uchiha. If there is one thing that we are certain of, it is that when Sasuke Uchiha returns, he will be an Otsutsuki-level shinobi.
“I’m going to fight. I won’t let this village and my brother’s sacrifices be wasted.” — Sasuke decides to protect Konoha, Naruto Chapter #627
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5, released officially on December 20, 2023, it was officially confirmed that Sasuke was strong enough to severely injure the likes of Code, who was already significantly stronger than Jigen at this point in time. For Sasuke to be able to injure him without even having his Rinnegan goes to show how strong he grew during the timeskip. Given more time, Sasuke is going to grow even stronger and reach high levels of strength, especially if he goes on to meet Kashin Koji and, with his Prescience ability, works on Ninjutsu of his own. We can’t wait to see Sasuke return stronger than ever before, with newer abilities up his sleeve in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. It’ll be exciting to see him show off formidable feats of strength against the likes of the Shinju, the Otsutsuki, and anyone else who dares to harm the village that he, his brother, and their ancestors swore to defend.
