All Riddle Solutions for the Sage’s Wisdom Quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

The Seeking the Sage Quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen may seem like yet another confusing hunt for riddle solutions, but it’s actually quite simple. To complete all three riddles, you need to find the following items: a Fimbl’s Frozen Wyrmslife Crystal, a tusk from a particularly-large Norgan Giant, and the brooch from your mysterious savior from the encounter with the Fallen Dragon.

The game will give you some blatant clues about where to find these items if you talk to the right person, but if you want a quick rundown on where to go and what to find, here’s a DD2: Dark Arisen guide to help you out.

Riddle of the Body

Target: The Mournful Norgan Giant north of the Norgandian Settlement

You can get clues for all the riddles by speaking to the scholar (Polyeidus) who came as part of the Vermundian commission. As for the Riddle of the Body, your target is a particularly-large Norgan Giant that has been disturbing everyone in the village with its mournful wails in the morning. After accepting the riddle, go back to the settlement’s inn and rest until morning. Then, head out through northern village gate, and you’ll find the giant trudging through the path leading to the northeast.

Follow the giant’s trail, and you’ll eventually reach a previously-blocked mountain slope that should now be accessible to you. Go up the slope, and you’ll find the giant at the top. Defeat it to get the Mournful Giant’s Tusk.

Riddle of the Will

Target: The Decorative Brooch in the Mountain Stronghold

Return to the stronghold where you fought the Fallen Dragon in the Rumbles in the North mission, and you’ll find some of the commission’s soldiers scouring the scene. Investigate the area to find a Decorative Brooch on the ground. Shortly after picking it up, you’ll be attacked by a large horde of Ghouls. Stand your ground and fight them all off, then move on to the next riddle.

Riddle of the Soul

Target: The Fimbl in the Beorcan Stronghold

For this riddle, you need to find the Fimbl (a lesser ice dragon) in the Beorcan Stronghold northwest of the Norgandian Settlement. Find the castle north of the stronghold, then face the locked gate. From there, turn left, then search for a tunnel that leads to the arena where the Fimbl is.

I strongly recommend bringing some means of silencing the Fimbl. Its magic attacks are incredibly strong, and they can wipe your party out in one fell swoop if you fail to stagger the Fimbl during its casting animation. Fire is very effective against this monster, so bring the appropriate gear and skills, or have a Pawn in your party who can give your weapons a Fire Boon.

Defeating the Fimbl will drop a Frozen Wyrmslife Crystal.
