Anna Wintour banned these 3 foods from the Met Gala menu

The Met Gala’s blacklist goes beyond celebrities, but also includes a few foods that Anna Wintour is “not particularly fond of.”

In addition to the strict no smoking policy and phone restrictions, Vogue’s editor-in-chief admits that she has also banned three foods from being served at fashion’s biggest night.

In an interview with TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager ahead of last year’s Met Gala, Wintour revealed that garlic, onions and chives are not allowed anywhere on the menu.

The reason? Well besides all three being notorious for causing bad breath, she notes that “those are three things I’m not particularly fond of,” Wintour told Bush Hager.

The fashion mogul also shared insight into why the prestigious event also has a no-phone policy. “It’s often wonderful to hear, after dinner, people say, ‘Oh we had the most wonderful conversations,’” she explained. “So that’s the idea, that life can exist without a picture on your cell phone.”

Considering the exclusivity of the annual event, we won’t know exactly what will be on the menu, but this year’s ’s chef, Kwame Onwuachi, promises to curate the meal to highlight this year’s theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Onwuachi, who is the owner of Tatiana in New York City, is know for his African and Caribbean-inspired dishes.

‘I wanted to really capture Black culture in all of its elements,” Onwuachi told BET. “From the diaspora to the Caribbean to the American South, even to just the boroughs in New York.”

The Met Gala carpet starts at 6 PM ET on all across Vogue’s digital platforms, as well as on their YouTube page.
