Bad Bunny was reportedly targeted by a “credible death threat” during his concert residency in Puerto Rico.
The top-charting artist — who just wrapped his 31-show run at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, or El Choli, on Saturday — was allegedly threatened by an unknown individual on social media, Puerto Rican journalist Jay Fonseca said in his podcast Wednesday.
Security personnel at the venue were “particularly vigilant and careful” during his final show due to a “credible threat against Bad Bunny,” Fonseca said.
“Later, they realized that there was a person who appeared to be armed,” added the independent journalist and former Telemundo reporter.
It’s unclear if the person was arrested. Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has made no public statement regarding the alleged threat. A rep for the Puerto Rican-born artist did not immediately return a request for comment Thursday afternoon.
Earlier this month, Bad Bunny said the reason he was leaving the U.S. out of his upcoming world tour was because “f–ng ICE” could be outside his concert venues, which was something he was “very concerned about.”
The Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour — an all-stadium tour in support of his sixth solo studio album — is set to kick off in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on Nov. 21 and conclude in Brussels, Belgium, on July 22, 2026.
Last week, the 31-year-old reggaeton superstar was revealed as the artist to beat at the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards, with a whopping 12 nominations, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
A day after the nominations were announced, NBC revealed that the “Soy Peor” singer would host this year’s “Saturday Night Live” premiere, featuring Doja Cat in her SNL musical guest debut, on Oct. 4.
