Should You Throw or Pocket the Coin?
[Throw the Coin] | [Pocket the Coin]
If you decided to go to Wayne Enterprise in Episode 4, then you will begin Episode 5 with a trip to the burned-down Wayne Manor for a final confrontation against Harvey Dent, who has become so unhinged that he’s willing to kill his own staff with a flip of a coin.
If you have this opening to Episode 5, I suggest throwing Harvey’s coin. This leaves Harvey scrambling to get the coin back, which gives Bruce an opportunity to attack, but he doesn’t need to, as Harvey will get himself knocked unconscious by falling down the stairs.
55.3% of players threw Harvey’s coin. If you pocket the coin instead, the outcome is the same, except Harvey will give up instead of getting knocked out.
Should You Distract the Penguin?
Your mother deserved Arkham! | You’re right. It’s my fault! | We’re not done talking! | …
If you went to Wayne Manor in Episode 4, then Episode 5 begins with you confronting the Penguin at the park as Bruce Wayne. Penguin is trying to set a trap for Batman, but the GCPD are the only ones nibbling on the line, which is why Bruce Wayne is the perfect bait to get under Cobblepot’s nose.
I recommend distracting the Penguin, as it’s easy to do; you just click on provoking dialogue options instead of staying silent. Say things that would sting Oz, and then Gordon will have an opportunity to deactivate Penguin’s control of the drones.
76.9% of players managed to distract Penguin!
Should You Forgive Alfred?
All that matters is fixing it. | I wish you had. | You’re not to blame. | …
When Bruce returns to the Batcave, Alfred attempts to open up about his guilt surrounding his knowledge of Thomas Wayne’s crimes, and how he didn’t do anything to stop it. It’s here that Bruce and Alfred can have a heart-to-heart, or where Bruce can turn his back on Alfred.
I chose to forgive Alfred, as it wouldn’t make sense for Bruce to be bitter against the man who raised him and protected him after his parents had died. Alfred isn’t to blame for Thomas’s crimes, and there’s really not much he could’ve done anyway, so it doesn’t make sense to hold a grudge against him.
67.9% of players comforted Alfred and decided he wasn’t to blame.
Should You Leave Selina on Good Terms or Bad Terms?
You know that’s not true. | That’s all you are.
Selina Kyle is leaving Gotham, and this time, it’s likely that she isn’t coming back. This isn’t a game of cat and mouse (or Cat and Bat), it’s a goodbye for good. Bruce needs to listen to Selina tell him that this was just a job for her, and that she’s a bad person who won’t be coming back.
When it came to an answer, I told Selina, “You know that’s not true.” Selina is infamous for putting up barriers to protect herself, and she’s more than just a thief. Bruce has feelings for her, and always has hope that people can be better than what they believe they are.
Saying this to Selina lets you kiss her one last time, or let the moment pass. Over 91.3% of players regarded Selina as more than a thief!
Should You Reveal Batman’s Identity to Vicki Vale?
[Remove Cowl] | [Attack Vicki]
Lady Arkham has kidnapped Alfred, and she demands that Batman reveal his true face to her. Someone as dangerous as Vicki Vale knowing Batman’s true identity could collapse the fear behind Batman, but is keeping it worth the potential death of Alfred?
I decided to unmask to Vicki Vale and reveal that Batman is Bruce Wayne. Not only is this a decision made to save Alfred, but protecting the innocent is far more important than a secret identity. Plus, who would believe the criminally insane Vicki Vale, even if she did try to tell everyone?
Bruce’s ear will be permanently scarred, but 73.1% of players made this choice. If you don’t reveal your identity, then Alfred still lives, but he loses an eye.
Should You Attend as Batman or Bruce?
[Attend as Batman] | [Attend as Bruce]
A bright new day begins in Gotham, and Bruce has an opportunity to cleanse his family name and have a fresh start, with Gordon as the new Commissioner, asking for the leaders of the city to join his address to the city. Yet, who’s more important to stand behind the city: the billionaire CEO, or the masked vigilante?
I attended as Bruce, as it’s far more important to mend Bruce Wayne’s relationship with Gotham City for a multitude of reasons. Besides, Batman doesn’t need the public’s approval to do the right thing, and should never be in the public eye.
61.6% of players showed up to Gordon’s address as Bruce Wayne.
Should You Pick a Stronger Gotham Police or a Better Arkham Asylum?
A stronger Gotham Police. | A better Arkham Asylum.
If you attend Gordon’s address as Bruce Wayne, you can give a speech to the people of Gotham, where you decide to put extra funding into either the GCPD or Arkham Asylum. Bruce’s money is essential to Gotham City, so where should it be placed?
I picked a better Arkham Asylum, as it’s more fitting for Bruce to care about those with mental troubles. Plus, it further shows how he’s willing to amend the sins of his father by fixing the very institute that Thomas Wayne abused and exploited. While better funding for the GCPD is nice, it’s more politics than Bruce will want to be involved in.
