DMRs (or Designated Marksman Rifles) lie firmly in between assault rifles and sniper rifles in Battlefield 6. They don’t have the one-shot potential of bolt-action rifles, nor are they capable of full-auto firing like ARs. However, a skilled marksman can absolutely decimate the enemy from a relatively safe distance, and they can even counter hostile snipers if they can out-position them.

While DMRs aren’t as popular as the rest of the weapons in BF6, they are still worth picking up if you want to lean heavily towards a playstyle that relies on positioning and careful aim. In this guide, we’re ranking all the DMRs in the game based on how well they perform throughout different scenarios.

Battlefield 6, All LMGs, Ranked

Whether you’re laying down covering fire or clearing rooms with a hail of bullets, there’s bound to be an LMG in BF6 that fits your playstyle.

Updated February 17, 2026 by Marc Santos: Battlefield 6 Season 2 introduced the GRT-CPS, a fast-firing designated marksman rifle that trades damage for fire rate and ammo capacity. It offers players a more mobile DMR playstyle, rivaling the LMR27 while retaining its role as a long-ranged gun. We’ve updated this list to include the GRT-CPS, including a brief rundown on what makes it unique.

The SVK 8.6 is our top pick for this weapon category because of its ability to take players down in just two hits to the body. It rewards players who can hit their shots, and it’s perfect for those medium-long-ranged engagements that one would expect out of a high-caliber, semi-automatic marksman rifle.

However, the other DMRs in BF6 actually aren’t that far behind the SVK in terms of performance. Given how short the average engagement range is across all of Battlefield 6’s maps so far, there’s a lot of value to be had from the DMRs that fire faster and have more ammo. If you’re curious as to how these guns fair against each other, we have more details on how each weapon performs below.

SVK 8.6

Battlefield 6 SVK-8.6 Stats

As mentioned above, the SVK 8.6 is capable of a two-shot-kill to the body against any target within 200 meters — this makes the weapon incredibly easy to use compared to the other DMRs (more on this later), as you don’t need to score headshots to be at your most effective. Despite having a slow fire rate of 150 RPM, its optimal body shot TTK still sits at 0.4 seconds, which is the same as the LMR27 and SVDM.

The SVK has one glaring downside: it has horrible handling. The ADS time and reload speed of this rifle take ages to finish, and when you combine those with its poor hipfire accuracy and slow rate of fire, you end up with a gun that’s terrible at close range. Also, the SVK cannot kill enemies in one hit unless you’re using Hollow Point ammo, and even then, the one-shot range sits only at 10 or so meters. Other DMRs can achieve faster TTKs by scoring headshots, but the same can’t be said for the SVK unless you’re willing to sacrifice attachment points for Hollow Points while also using the gun at its worst engagement distance.

SVDM

BF6 SVDM Stats

Battlefield 6 SVDM Stats

The SVDM is a faster-firing DMR compared to the SVK, but since it deals less damage, you will need to land either three body shots or two headshots with it in order to take someone down. This rifle’s performance is very similar to the M39 EMR, but we’ve decided to rank this higher than that one simply because of its 300 RPM fire rate. The SVDM achieves the same 0.4 second body shot TTK of the SVK and LMR27 without compromising much of its other stats.

Unlike the SVK, the SVDM has a decent base hipfire accuracy stat and slightly better handling across the board. It’s good in a pinch when someone rushes you in close quarters, but given its small base magazine size of 10 bullets, you won’t have much space for mistakes. You can eventually extend the gun’s magazine capacity, though, and if you build it for high hipfire accuracy, you can use the SVDM more aggressively, making it great for all but the smallest of maps.

M39 EMR

BF6 M39 EMR Stats

Battlefield 6 M39 EMR Stats

The M39 EMR is the starting DMR in BF6, and while it’s not terrible, it’s not amazing either. This weapon is the baseline that all other DMRs are compared to, and frankly, there’s not much to praise or criticize about it. However, we do have to point out that since it shares the same damage profile as the SVDM, its slower fire rate of 257 RPM means the M39’s optimal body shot TTK sits at 0.466 seconds. The difference is miniscule, and unless you’re having a duel with someone who’s using another DMR, the added 0.66 seconds really isn’t going to matter.

Whether you pick the M39 EMR over the others is purely up to personal taste. The gun’s default 20-round magazine makes it a lot more forgiving than the SVDM and SVK, though, and you can often get more kills with the M39 if you can land all of your shots.

GRT-CPS

The GRT-CPS is in a bit of an awkward spot. Much like the LMR27 below, this weapon requires a minimum of four bullets to take an enemy down. Unlike the DMRs above, the GRT-CPS is designed for spamming bullets down range, making it the most forgiving rifle out of the bunch.

This weapon’s 4-bullet-kill damage profile undoubtedly attracts comparisons with the LMR27, but what the GRT-CPS has over the latter is a default mag size of 20 rounds. This alone makes the GRT-CPS superior to the LMR27 in terms of practical use. You won’t be winning any face-to-face gunfights with this DMR, but if you can play to its strengths, you can definitely get plenty of value out of it.

LMR27

BF6 LMR27 Stats

Battlefield 6 LMR27 Stats

We previously called the LMR27 a cruel joke of a weapon in BF6, and it still kind of is, just not in the way one would expect. This gun takes four shots to kill someone (three if you hit headshots) — this may sound bad, but since its optimal body shot TTK is the same as the SVK and SVDM, it really isn’t that big of a deal. The real kicker here is the LMR27’s tiny magazine size of 10 bullets, and its painfully slow reload time of 2.8 seconds. Unless you have perfect accuracy, you likely won’t get to take down more than one enemy per magazine, and the downtime between reloads is so long that it’s hard not to find the gun annoying to use.

However, there are some good things about the LMR27, namely:

The LMR27 remains accurate at close-medium range even while shooting and strafing.

The gun has good base hipfire accuracy.

It starts with a Bipod.

BF6 LMR27 Bipod

Battlefield 6 LMR27 Bipod

While we would never recommend using the LMR27 for close-ranged, head-on duels, it’s still nice to know that the gun can still accurately hit things even while you’re moving. However, the most important part about the LMR27 is that it comes with a pre-installed bipod. The gun may have low damage, but if you deploy it with a bipod, you can basically spam the trigger without having to worry about recoil. Ironically, with its bipod deployed, the LMR27 is the easiest DMR to use at long range (at least by default), beating even the SVK in terms of ease of use.

Still, the LMR27’s cons far outweigh its pros, especially when you consider that one of its saving graces is something that other DMRs can eventually obtain down the road. Sure, it has the makings of a good close-ranged DMR, but it’s hard to justify using this for CQB when the M277 Carbine exists, and while there’s a 20-round mag option for the LMR27 for better long-ranged engagements, you might as well just use the M250 LMG at that point.
