That scale doesn’t just show up in its combat, puzzle-solving, or large-scale encounters, though, but extends to the kinds of activities it supports across the board. For a game built on intense battles and demanding progression, Crimson Desert still manages to house an entire cozy gameplay loop within its design, with fishing, cooking, crafting, and camp life all sitting alongside its more aggressive systems. And while it’s easy to approach the game as something that constantly asks more from the player, it’s just as capable of letting them slow down and engage with it at an entirely different pace.
