Safe Code in Devil Reef Hotel
Once you open the safe, you will find shotgun shells, handgun ammo, as well as a target grip mod for the full-auto rifle that you found in the hotel.
The code is hidden in a lyrics piece that you find on the ground floor of the hotel, on a table in the VIP area, behind the main counter. This piece of evidence is called “Baby, One More Tide”.
After you get the Staff Room key, it will open up two locked rooms for you. One on the second floor and one on the third floor. The Staff Room on the third floor also hosts a piece of evidence, in which it is explicitly mentioned that the safe’s code is inside the aforementioned lyrics.
Now, let’s get back to the lyrics. It features four key phrases: Wings, Tail, Octopus Hearts, and Sins. The first key phrase refers to the wings of a bat. Obviously, a bat has two wings. So, the first number in the code is 2.
Tail is a singular word, and it represents 1. The lyrics mention a curled tail, which could mislead someone to numbers like 5 or 2 that look like a curly tail, but it is, in fact, 1.
Octopus Hearts is probably the most misleading part. Many, including myself, would probably pay attention to the octopus part, a creature with 8 legs, and would put 8 on the code. However, it does mention the hearts of an octopus, and in case you don’t know, it has 3 hearts. So, the correct number is 3.
There is a hint for this part in the second piece of evidence. In the last part of it, the writer mentions that the beasts with eight have three. Meaning, the 8-legged octopus has three hearts. A quick search on the internet would also suffice.
Finally, we have Sins. The word actually hints at the 7 deadly sins. So, the correct number is 7.
And that’s how you should’ve figured out the code. Now, there is no need to worry, as you still have more safes to open, and more puzzles to solve, and you can count on us to provide you with the answers you seek to navigate each chapter and reward!
