The rumored collaboration between the two popular shooters has been one of the most surprising crossovers coming to the game. Leaks have hinted at four skins being added to the battle royale as part of the rumored Overwatch collab, with previous information particularly pointing towards D.Va and Tracer skins. The initial leaks did not provide a window for the collaboration’s release date, with initial theories about the crossover coming with Chapter 7 Season 2’s battle pass being unfounded. Now, a new leak provides a release window and more information about the Overwatch crossover.

Fortnite Leak Teases Overwatch Collab Release Date, Skins
New leaks from prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX teased more details about the Overwatch collaboration’s upcoming release. According to the leak, the previously mentioned D.Va and Tracer skins are set to be joined by two more iconic heroes, adding cosmetics for both Genji and Mercy. The Fortnite skins are expected to be based on the characters’ depictions in Overwatch 2, with a Porsche Macan SUV also being added to the game alongside the skins. HYPEX even gives players an idea of when the Overwatch collaboration will launch, with the skins expected to be added to the game sometime in May.
The rumored skins featured in Overwatch’s first collaboration with Fortnite have already seen plenty of ideas from fans for future crossover content. Many have already begun to speculate about a potential second wave of Overwatch skins, mentioning characters like Reaper, Widowmaker, and Sombra. Ashe was also a popular choice to receive a crossover skin in Fortnite, with multiple different fans asking Epic Games to add a skin based on the sharpshooter. Some fans also pointed out the noticeable lack of a Kiriko skin, with the hero being heavily promoted during Overwatch 2’s launch.
Fortnite’s upcoming Overwatch crossover will join a plethora of exciting collaborations that have been added throughout Chapter 7 Season 2. Game of Thrones served as the major collaboration for the battle royale’s current season, introducing skins based on Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and The Night King. Epic Games also recently debuted a brand-new crossover with classic Cartoon Network series Ben 10, adding new cosmetics for Ben Tennyson, Gwen Tennyson, and the various aliens contained in the Omnitrix.

Epic Games has also made some big changes to Fortnite throughout the past few months. The developer officially made Fortnite: Save the World free to play on April 16, with the survival game also receiving a collaboration in the battle royale mode. The battle royale also recently pushed new upgrades to the Builder’s Barracks POI on the map, after fans completed one of the major milestones for Act 2. Fortnite should have lots in store for fans in the near future as Chapter 7 Season 2 moves into its second half.
