Fortnite Players Aren’t Happy About Lightsaber-Themed Wrap

Fortnite players have come together to express their disappointment with the new Saber Collector wrap included with the battle pass for its latest mini-season, Galactic Battle. Epic Games recently released the new Star Wars-themed season of Fortnite, bringing characters like Mace Windu, Emperor Palpatine, and Darth Jar Jar to the popular battle royale.

In addition to launching Galactic Battle, Epic Games released an AI version of the character Darth Vader in Fortnite, which has drawn a mixed reaction from fans. After defeating Darth Vader, players can have the iconic Sith Lord join their squad. Once Vader joins a player’s squad, gamers can have fully-voiced conversations with him. As a result, Fortnite is being sued by SAG-AFTRA, as the NPC is fully powered and voiced by AI. While there’s no way of knowing what will happen with the lawsuit, it’s part of an ongoing effort to figure out how to regulate the use of AI in the gaming industry.

In a recent post on Twitter, LivingRel posted an image of the new Saber Collector wrap and expressed their extreme disappointment that Epic Games hasn’t released a genuine lightsaber pickaxe in Fortnite. The Saber Collector wrap is part of a set called The Prequel Trilogy, and it can be obtained in the battle pass for the Galactic Battle season. When fired, an image of a lightsaber appears on the side of the Saber Collector wrap. It is one of 14 cosmetics that can be unlocked alongside General Grievous and his other accessories. The items were only revealed with the game’s most recent update, as they were previously hidden. Many fans were hoping that the rewards would include a lightsaber pickaxe, which many players had been requesting since before the Star Wars mini-season began.

Fortnite Players Want a Genuine Lightsaber Pickaxe

While gamers are unable to obtain the iconic weapon as a cosmetic, it is still possible to wield a lightsaber in Fortnite. Most of the Galactic Battle season’s loot pool has been replaced by Star Wars weapons and items, which include lightsabers and Force powers. However, many fans are still asking Epic Games to add the weapon as a pickaxe, so players can complete the look of their Jedi and Sith cosmetics.

The skin itself is 1,500 V-Bucks without any accessories, and there’s no bundle offered for all the character’s cosmetics. In addition, gamers who wish to purchase the skin first need to earn over one million XP. Despite a few hiccups and complaints, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
