How to Get the Secret Garden Key & Unlock the Secret Garden in Blue Prince

Trying to make that perfect blueprint of a home in Blue Prince requires a little bit of strategy and a little bit of chance. Rooms like the Secret Garden are even more difficult to nail down because you need to have a few things lined up in your favor in terms of room layout and item gathering.

The Billiard Room

The Secret Garden key is technically a random drop that could be found anywhere. But there are some specific rooms where you’re more likely to find it. In the Billiard Room, there is a dartboard that has a puzzle to solve. When you solve it, the board lifts, and there are keys behind it. The types of keys vary, and the Secret Garden key could be one.

The Music Room

Another room that could hold the key is the Music Room. This room appears at Rank 8 or 9. Every time you place it, there will be 1 Key and 1 Special Key. This increases the chance of getting the Secret Garden key.

The Locksmith

You can also build the Locksmith Room. Here you can buy different types of keys. For 8 coins, you can buy a Special Key, which could become the Secret Garden key. You don’t get to choose which Special Key you get, so unless RNG is in your favor, you may have to buy more.

Outside of specific rooms, it’s worth checking a few item areas to see if it pops up there, too. In some rooms, you’ll find locked chests that might have the Secret Garden key spawned within. The same goes for dirt piles. If you manage to get a shovel, you can dig up the dirt piles found in the Green Rooms for a chance at getting the key spawn.

How to Unlock the Secret Garden

In addition to having the Secret Garden Key, you also need to have the right layout:

On either the far left column or the far right column, have a door in any room that needs to be unlocked, staying out of the corner and within the same column.

Once you have a locked door on either side, you can unlock it using the key, and instead of drafting a blueprint, you will automatically have the Secret Garden.

What Does the Secret Garden Do in Blue Prince?

The Secret Garden Has a Few Highly Notable Features

When you have the Secret Garden, it will spread fruit across the map, giving you more steps more often. The largest benefit of the room is the lever to open the Antechamber.

In the Secret Garden, you’ll see a wind vane on top of a fountain. Use the valves to make the arrows all point to the moon statue, and a lever will appear. This lever opens the left side door of the Antechamber.
