While players should have no trouble setting Keyman Lockdown, there is an issue with using it while controlling the game with a keyboard and mouse. This issue will be elaborated upon in this guide’s final section, though players are advised to use a controller if at all possible.
How to Set Keyman Lockdown in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road
Buy Keyman Lockdown Tactic
The first step towards setting the Keyman Lockdown is buying the tactic, and it can be purchased at the Friendly Match – By the Football Club Room marker on the west side of South Cirrus Junior High. The preceding images will help players locate that marker, and here is what they should do when they find it:
Interact with the marker.
Select Special Training Booth.
Navigate to the Tactics tab.
Purchase Keyman Lockdown for three Zeal tokens.
Set Keyman Lockdown
After buying the tactic, players should open the menu and navigate to the Team Dock tab at the top. Players should then look near the bottom-left corner of the screen, where they will see “Team Dock RPG.” There will be input to the right of that text, and players should press it to enter the Team Dock SO menu. Here, players should select one of the empty tactics boxes beneath their manager’s portrait and choose Keyman Lockdown from the list that appears to set it.
How to Use Keyman Lockdown in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road players will be instructed to use Keyman Lockdown after taking their first shot during the duel with the Baseball Club. While there is a brief in-game tutorial about using the tactic, here is an overview of the process for players who need it:
Controller
Players who are using a controller to play Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road can perform a Keyman Lockdown by taking these actions:
Hold L1/LB to make the set tactics appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Press the input associated with Keyman Lockdown. This should be Triangle/Y.
Move your joystick toward the target (Thierry in this instance). This will cause an orange ring to move across the field.
When the target is inside the ring, press the Confirm input to execute the tactic.
Keyboard & Mouse
It seems as though executing Keyman Lockdown on a keyboard and mouse should be quite similar to executing it on a controller, and the preliminary steps are. Indeed, players should hold Tab to bring up the tactic inputs and then press the one associated with Keyman Lockdown to start the maneuver. However, selecting the target after the tactic has started does not seem to work as one would expect, as players will find that they can not move the aforementioned orange ring with their mouse or keyboard. While this issue may be addressed with a future update, here are the options that players can currently use to get around it:
Initiate the Keyman Lockdown when the character that will use the tactic is right on top of the target. This should make it possible to confirm the target without moving anything.
Set up a virtual controller to emulate controller inputs.
