The final chapter of “season 1” of Inio Asano’sMUJINA INTO THE DEEP was published in this year’s ninth issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine, revealing a 2027 release window for its “second season”.
The series author, best known for the psychological coming-of-age seinen mangaGoodluck Punpun, explained on his personal X account that the reason for the long break in between the manga’s “seasons” is due to fatigue and the fact that he is currently out of material. It has also been revealed that Asano has a new short manga series set for release sometime this year.

About MUJINA INTO THE DEEP
The series is an action-packed ode to excess, set in a morally grey world where young women without rights; otherwise known as Mujina, exist outside the boundaries of conventional society, taking up underworld work like assassinations and reconnaissance as modern-day ninja.
The first “season” ofMUJINA INTO THE DEEP entered its “final battle” in January this year. Shogakukan will release the sixth and final volume of season 1 on May 29.
