One Piece Chapter 1174 has officially revealed one of the most overpowered Devil Fruits in the entire series that the fans have been waiting to see eagerly over the course of the last few months, and that is Loki’s Devil Fruit.

For quite a while, there was a lot of speculation surrounding the powers that Loki held, and now, Oda has officially confirmed Loki to hold a dragon Devil Fruit that belongs to the Mythical Zoan class. This Devil Fruit is easily one of the strongest in the story, and its powers are immense. Although the full extent of its abilities has not been revealed, there is quite a lot that Oda has already clarified about its powers.

Loki Has A Dragon Devil Fruit In One Piece

Loki’s Fruit Belongs To The Mythical Zoan Class

Loki Niddhogg Dragon Devil Fruit One Piece

Loki’s Devil Fruit was first brought up in One Piece right at the very beginning of the Elbaf arc. Immediately after his debut as the Accursed Prince of Elbaf, it was revealed by Oda that Loki ate the legendary Devil Fruit of the country of Elbaf 14 years ago. At the time, Oda painted an evil picture of Loki that almost made it seem like he stole this Devil Fruit from the country. The truth of it all was revealed in the Loki flashback. To keep Harald from eating the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf and preventing it from falling into Imu’s hands, Loki ended up consuming this Devil Fruit. With its powers, he was able to transform into a gigantic creature and then defeat Harald for good. Its powers were such that it took a heavy toll on Imu. When Loki killed Harald, it was quite clear that even the likes of Shanks and Gaban combined could not do what Loki did.

In One Piece Chapter 1174, Oda officially confirmed to the fans that Loki’s Devil Fruit ability is that of a dragon. This was already hinted at in One Piece Chapter 1172, in which Loki clearly stated that he had the ability to fly. When combined with the fact that Loki transformed into a giant creature with claws for hands, it made it quite easy to see that his overall ability revolved around the lines of a flying serpentine creature. Now, One Piece Chapter 1174 has officially revealed Loki’s Dragon Devil Fruit to the fans.

Don’t worry about me. I can fly my way up! — Loki

In terms of appearance, Loki’s Devil Fruit grants him the ability to transform into a black dragon with massive wings. Unlike Kaido’s Devil Fruit, Loki’s fruit grants him the power to transform into a Western dragon. This dragon is absolutely gigantic in size. For context, even a giant looks like a dwarf when compared to Loki, and he can easily destroy entire islands with ease, which makes sense, given that Loki has been said to be the destroyer of the world by many.

Loki’s Dragon Can Manipulate Lightning

The Strongest Creature In The World

Loki Ragnir Nidhogg Lightning One Piece

One of the biggest abilities of Loki’s Dragon Devil Fruit is the power to manipulate lightning. This was first teased before the Loki flashback even began. With Ragnir in his hands, Loki was able to channel a lightning strike from the skies and set fire to a massive branch in Elbaf. Now, in One Piece Chapter 1174, Loki clearly made use of his dragon devil fruit in a lightning sky, and this painted quite a fearsome image of what his powers are capable of. Quite clearly, Loki can easily cause a cataclysmic event with his powers if he wanted to.

One Piece Chapter 1174 also showed Loki performing a heroic deed immediately as the children fell from the Sun World of Elbaf down towards the Underworld along with their parents. It was Loki who came through the clouds, grabbed the children, and saved the day. Along with Loki was the Sun God Nika Luffy, as well as Ragnir, and together these three are going to stand in Imu’s way and make his life hell.

Loki’s Dragon Ability Is Likely The Nidhogg Dragon

Inspired By Norse Mythology

It goes without saying that Loki’s Devil Fruit ability is that of the Nidhogg dragon. The Nidhogg is said to be a serpentine dragon that eats away at the roots of the Yggdrasil tree in Norse mythology. Similarly, Loki was chained to the three roots of the Adam Tree in the Underworld of Elbaf, which creates a beautiful parallel between the two. At the same time, Nidhogg is called the lightning dragon in the One Piece world, while Loki is a giant dragon capable of manipulating lightning. If it wasn’t any clearer, Loki has the power of the Nidhogg Devil Fruit, and this is what makes him one of the strongest in the world.

I can’t wait to see him fight! — Luffy to Loki

With the power of this Devil Fruit, Loki can quite clearly manipulate lightning at will, and with the power of Ragnir, he can also manipulate ice. It should not come as a surprise to see Loki manipulate fire either. This is because Loki has the powers of a Western dragon, and they have the ability to spit fire. It would also be fitting, given that Loki calls himself the Sun God, and a Sun God with the powers of fire would make a lot of sense. As such, Loki would then have the power to manipulate lightning, ice, and fire at the same time, making him one of the strongest characters in One Piece.

Loki’s Devil Fruit Makes Him The Strongest In Elbaf

Loki Is A Worthy Rival To Imu

Loki's Dragon Manipulate Lightning One Piece

If there was any doubt before, One Piece chapter 1174 confirms that Loki is the strongest character in Elbaf’s history. His Devil Fruit ability allows him to transform into an absolute behemoth of a dragon that can dwarf entire islands and destroy them with ease. Previously, Oda labeled Loki as the destroyer of the world. With the power that he holds, it is quite easy to see why Loki can easily go on to destroy the entire world of One Piece if he so wishes.

Loki’s powers are comparable to ancient weapons themselves, and that is without even taking into consideration the abilities offered to him by the likes of Ragnir. Overall, even Luffy’s Sun God Nika powers don’t come close to Loki’s. It goes without saying that Loki can even rival the likes of Imu in terms of power. As things stand in One Piece, with each passing chapter, it becomes even more perplexing as to how Shanks managed to defeat this calamity six years ago. For now, no answer has been provided by Oda when it comes to this question, but in time, even this mystery will be solved. What matters right now is Loki’s dragon Devil Fruit officially making him the strongest character in Elbaf.

One Piece Chapter 1174 drops on February 15, 2026.
