A 23-year-old man has been arrested for repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl that he met at a Queens Catholic church — and police are investigating whether he assaulted other young women, officials said Saturday.
Cops arrested Angel Ramos on May 2 after the teen came forward, claiming that Ramos had attacked her at least four times in recent weeks, cops said. The victim’s family made a report to the pastor on April 21, which was then reported to police.
The teen said the two met at a church in East Elmhurst and that he had attacked her against her will.
Police charged Ramos with rape, aggravated sexual assault, forcible touching and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
Ramos was a part-time worker for around two years in the parish in its rectory, helping coordinate the altar-server ministry, according to John Quaglione, deputy press secretary for the Diocese of Brooklyn.
Ramos posted the $50,000 bail a Queens Criminal Court judge levied against him during his arraignment on May 4, according to court records.
NYPD Special Victims Squad detectives believe Ramos sexually assaulted other girls at the church and in the neighborhood and are asking anyone with information about his other victims to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
