The Infinity Castle arc is an intense one. It features many exciting fights from Demon Slayer.
There is no shortage of characters in the series who are loved by the fandom. However, there are also some who are either extremely evil or poorly written, making it difficult for many to find them likable. Out of all potenitial candidates, however, these are arguably the most unlikable characters in all of Demon Slayer.
6
Gyokko
The Upper Rank Five
Manga Debut: Chapter 98
Anime Debut: Episode 45
Gyokko is one of those demons whose human life does not evoke much sympathy, as they were just as cruel and twisted before Muzan turned them into a demon. After turning into one of Kibutsuji’s most trusted allies, the Upper Rank Five only became more intolerable and delusional.
Gyokko’s narcissistic tendencies, coupled with an unquenchable bloodthirst for humans, made him one of the most terrifying demons in existence. Unfortunately, as a character, he lacked depth, and his personality did not create an impact, resulting in him becoming one of the most unlikable characters in Demon Slayer.
5
Shinjuro Rengoku
Former Flame Hashira
Manga Debut: Chapter 67
Anime Debut: Episode 29
Shinjuro once used to be the Flame Hashira. At some point in his life, he got married to Ruka, and the couple had two children. The Rengokus appeared to be a thriving family, but everything changed when Ruka passed away. Around the same time, Shinjuro learned about the Sun Breathing and was overcome by an inferiority complex that ended up haunting him for years.
The young children are rousing themselves to the degree of action. Like Kyojuro, I will risk my life to protect them, so I will not bring shame upon house Rengoku.
Learning how superior Hinokami Kagura was to other breathing styles made Shinjuro give up on swordsmanship and turn to alcohol. He not only neglected his children but also became a shell of his former self—bitter, resentful, and emotionally distant. While Kyojuro demonstrated maturity to lead a fruitful life, he never got the love and attention of his father. Shinjuro’s inferiority complex and his indefensible neglect of his family make him an easy character to dislike.
4
Muzan Kibutsuji
The Demon King
Manga Debut: Chapter 13
Anime Debut: Episode 7
Muzan Kibutsuji has lived a life driven by the desire to attain immortality so that he can eventually establish a world order that he can dictate. Along the way, he even found some loyal servants and allies who were willing to put their lives on the line for him. Despite their sacrifices, Muzan never saw them as equals and merely used them as pawns to further his own goals.
The one thing I hate is change. Changes in circumstances. Changes in body. Changes in emotion. In most cases, every change is degradation. It is decline. The one thing I like is permanence. If something doesn’t change for an eternity, It’s in a perfect state.
Kibutsuji had no qualms about slaughtering anyone he deemed useless, and he went to great lengths to ensure that he was feared. Even when he was a human suffering from a life-threatening disease, he killed the only person who was trying desperately to cure him, as he was not patient enough for the results of the treatment to manifest. For Muzan, self-preservation trumped everything else.
3
Hantengu
The Self-Pitying Monster
Manga Debut: Chapter 98
Anime Debut: Episode 45
Hantengu was a querulous and self-absorbed demon. He would commit heinous crimes and not only felt no remorse but even saw his victims as the aggressors. Even in his human life, he was not any different and blamed others for his misdeeds.

Demon Slayer: Every Major Death In The Final Arc, Ranked
The Final arc of Demon Slayer features many casualties. This arc was definitely the most tragic in the series.
Hantengu’s pathetic attitude was unsurprisingly off-putting for most fans of the Demon Slayer series, especially since he never showed a shred of humanity or remorse that could be deemed likable. There are many unlikable characters in Demon Slayer, but Hantengu is easily a standout.
2
Kaigaku
Zenitsu’s Arch-Enemy
Manga Debut: Chapter 34
Anime Debut: Episode 17
Kaigaku is an orphan who had no option but to resort to thieving and manipulation for self-preservation from a young age. His early life was understandably cruel and forced him to make immoral decisions, but he did find the love and care that every child deserves. Gyomei Himejima looked after him, along with several other orphans, at his temple. While life was far from perfect, Himejima sacrificed everything to keep the children happy.
Until you die, you haven’t lost. You may rub your face in the dirt… you may lose your home or drink muddy water… people may curse you for stealing money… but as long as you live on… you can win someday. You will win. I have moved forward with that belief.
But Kaigaku’s selfishness blinded him to Gyomei’s kindness, and when he was caught by a demon outside the temple one evening, he did not think twice before sacrificing everyone else to save himself. Kaigaku remained greedy and unremorseful even after this tragedy. When former Thunder Hashira Jigoro Kuwajima took him under his wing, he frequently bullied Zenitsu.
Even after becoming a demon slayer, he lacked the selfless desire to fight for others. When he ran into Kokushibo one day, Kaigaku’s self-preserving tendencies took over, and he decided to become a demon to save his life. This incident had far-reaching consequences, with Jigoro Kuwajima committing seppuku, feeling guilty for his disciple’s actions, but Kaigaku did not feel any remorse for his master even after his death. Throughout his life, Kaigaku received selfless love and care but never felt grateful for it. Quite paradoxically, he ended up becoming his own worst enemy and barely did anything that made him likable.
1
Doma
The Upper Rank Two Of The Twelve Kizuki
Manga Debut: Chapter 98
Anime Debut: Episode 45
Doma is one of those characters who had a natural disposition for evil even as a human being. He was born apathetic and struggled to understand other people. Even when his mother killed his father in front of him before taking her own life, he did not feel an ounce of compassion and only showed irritation over the blood that had been spilled in his room.

The Demon Slayer anime is renowned for its exceptional animation, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the action on display in these story arcs.
Doma’s psychopathic tendencies are so repugnant that even other demons can’t stand him. Since the Upper Rank Two has always been an evil monster, it’s hard to sympathize with him, so it’s no surprise that he ended up becoming one of the most unlikable characters in the Demon Slayer series.
