Netflix-Casino-and-Amazon-Slots-scams-spread-online-coverNetflix-Casino-and-Amazon-Slots-scams-spread-online-coverA new online gambling scam using the Netflix brand has appeared in sponsored social media advertising aimed at Italian users, following an earlier campaign that used Amazon’s name to promote a fake casino.

The operation calls itself “Netflix Casino” and uses branding resembling the streaming service. Advertising accounts include “N-flix It”, “Top App It”, “Netflix Casino”, “N-APP” and “ITNet”. The campaign falsely claims that Netflix has launched a legal online casino in Italy.

The adverts use several devices to create an appearance of legitimacy. They display what appears to be an ADM licence, compare the operation with licensed businesses such as SNAI and Eurobet, and promote supposed customer winnings, reviews and hundreds of thousands of downloads.

Fake Licences And Misleading Comparisons

One advert presents Netflix Casino alongside SNAI and labels the fake platform “ADM licence – 100% legal in Italy”. It promotes a €1,500 bonus and 250 free spins, instant withdrawals and a 4.9 out of 5 rating.

The same material describes SNAI as being “without a licence”, despite Snaitech appearing on ADM’s list of authorised remote gambling concessionaires. Sisal, Eurobet and Lottomatica also appear on that list, while Netflix Casino does not.

Other advertising makes similar comparisons with Eurobet. The fake platform claims “higher odds” and instant withdrawals while portraying the regulated operator less favourably.

The campaign also promotes messages including “€1,500 + 250 free spins”, “€1,000 + 150 free spins”, “Play now”, “Instant withdrawal” and “Up to €2,500 + 250 free spins”.

These claims appear despite Italy’s restrictions on gambling advertising. AGCOM’s Resolution 200/26/CONS, published on 10 August 2026, states that responsible gambling communications must avoid encouraging gambling or making representations about winnings.

Fabricated Newspapers Build Credibility

The campaign also reproduces the appearance of Italian newspapers. One fake La Repubblica page claims: “Enel blackout across half of Italy: millions of Italians at home discover Netflix Casino.” Another imitates Corriere della Sera with the headline: “Lottomatica and Sisal call for an audit of Netflix Casino: ‘It pays too much’.”

A La Gazzetta dello Sport-style advert promotes supposed “beginner’s luck”, while another fabricated article quotes a supposed former employee explaining why Netflix Casino “pays more than the others”.

Fake app-store-style pages reinforce the claims with statistics such as 589,300 downloads, more than 62,000 reviews and a 4.9-star rating. Supposed users praise winnings and payments, while one description states: “You know Netflix. Now Netflix pays you.”

The Advertising Leads Elsewhere

The campaign’s destination pages eventually move away from Netflix branding. Users can encounter other illegal online casinos offering registration, deposits, bonuses, jackpots, live games and customer support.

The documented route uses the Netflix name to attract attention before presenting fabricated media coverage, a false regulatory claim, supposed winners and misleading comparisons with licensed operators.

The earlier Amazon Slots campaign followed a similar pattern. Amazon denied any connection with that operation, while ADM confirmed that “Amazon Slots” and “Amazon Slot” were absent from Italy’s authorised remote gambling licensees.

The latest case raises questions about how sponsored advertising containing false licensing claims and gambling promotions reaches Italian social media users while licensed operators face detailed restrictions on promotional communication.
