GTA Online fans have the opportunity to make sure they play the upcoming Kortz Center Heist as early as possible, as the update officially became available to download earlier than expected ahead of its planned July 14, 2026, launch date. However, only players on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 are able to download the new GTA Online Heist right now.
Rockstar officially announced the Kortz Center Heist for Grand Theft Auto Online a few days ago, a brand-new Heist that will see players stake out and steal from a museum. It can be completed solo, but as with all heists, it’s going to be much better with friends. Gamers will need to invest in an Art Studio space expansion for their mansions before they can get started for this one, so make sure that’s done before the update is released.

GTA Online Kortz Center Heist Preload Live Earlier Than Expected
With GTA Online’s Kortz Center Heist set to drop on July 14, the files for the game have become available to pre-load on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S earlier than expected. This means that players can download them right now, and be able to play immediately once the update actually launches. Sadly, while the files can be downloaded on both platforms, the update can’t actually be played yet, so gamers will have to bide their time for just a few more days as the release approaches. PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One users will have to wait for the launch to download it.
In terms of file size, the pre-load for GTA Online’s Kortz Center Heist is relatively modest. On PlayStation 5, it’s around 1.9GB, whereas it comes in at a considerably bigger 5.11GB on Xbox Series X/S. For most players, this will be a pretty quick download, but it’s good to have the extra few days for those who need it. Once the update has been downloaded, players can continue playing GTA Online as normal, so there’s no need to worry about being able to play in the meantime.
It will be interesting to see how much content the Kortz Center Heist will feature, given that it’s releasing beyond the original date that GTA 6 was supposed to be released. It would perhaps make sense for it to have a smaller scale than previous Heists added to the game. It’s expected that the Kortz Center Heist will be the last major update for the game before GTA 6 drops, marking the end of an era.

GTA 6’s release date is drawing ever closer, and excitement is continuing to build for what is widely expected to be the biggest video game launch in history. There is still no sign of GTA 6’s trailer 3, which is somewhat surprising given the recent reveal of the game’s Ultimate Edition. With just over four months to go until the game launches, it would be surprising if something wasn’t on the way sooner rather than later.
