Shonen Jump has entered somewhat of a decline after the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. The two helped Shonen Jump reach new levels to become even more popular.
Both JJK and My Hero Academia have sold more than 100 million copies, a feat only ever accomplished by a handful of other manga. So, Shueisha is on the lookout for new manga that can help fill the void. One of the manga teed up to be a potential replacement is Kagurabachi.

After One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach, it’s time to welcome the new Weekly Shonen Jump Big Three.
Shonen Jump Is Teasing Kagurabachi Anime Announcement
On April 10, Shonen Jump shared a new teaser visual which had five unique items:
Hawk
Bullets
Grimoire
Goldfish
A Ring Necklace
Each of the things represents a particular anime. For instance, the Grimoire is from Black Clover, and the Ring Necklace likely belongs to Yuta Okkotsu, a character from Jujutsu Kaisen. Similarly, the Goldfish from Kagurabachi.
It has already been confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen and Black Clover will return with new anime projects, so it’s safe to say that the presence of the Goldfish implies that an anime announcement is on the way.
The anime adaptation for Kagurabachi has not been announced yet, but it is high time that Shonen Jump does so. The Kagurabachi manga is popular, but it has yet to hit the same level of fame as Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia.
An anime adaptation could prove extremely beneficial, especially since it greatly benefits the manga’s fame.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 2 Could Announce A New Update
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 1 already ended in March 2026, and it was one of the best projects that MAPPA ever worked on. While the first part just ended, fans are already eager to know when the second part will be released. Most rumors suggest that Jujutsu Kaisen’s next part will air in 2027, but there has been no official confirmation yet. Hopefully, that will change at the Shonen Jump Showcase. The new JJK part will cover the remainder of the Culling Game, which will include many more incredible fights.
In addition to JJK, the Shonen Jump Showcase will also make an announcement related to Black Clover. In 2025, it was confirmed that the Black Clover anime would return, but an exact release date was not shared with the audience. So, hopefully, there is an update at the Showcase.
Kagurabachi is available to read on Shonen Jump+.
