This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
One Piece fans suffered a big scare last week as the One Piece manga was suddenly revealed to be on break. Fans were worried, and for very valid reasons. One Piece only goes on sudden breaks due to health issues concerning the creator, Eiichiro Oda. These suspicions were confirmed soon after the break was announced, but thankfully, Oda is already recovering. This means that the long wait for the new One Piece chapter will soon be over, and One Piece fans can expect One Piece Chapter 1162 very soon, on October 12, 2025. Fans are definitely hyped and hope Oda is recovering well, all the while anticipating his next release for the incredible Elbaf arc.
One Piece Returns From A Sudden Unexpected Break
One Piece Manga Returns On October 12
October has started off on a very bad note for fans of the One Piece series. The anime went on not one, but two weeks of break, but even worse, the manga was suddenly announced to be on break. As fans know, breaks for the One Piece manga are planned, and rarely out of nowhere. The reason for this break was Oda’s health, so fans were very worried, especially after the message left by the Shonen Jump Editorial Department.
“To our beloved readers, thank you very much for always reading One Piece. Due to the author’s poor health, One Piece will be on break this issue. We deeply apologize to all readers who were looking forward to it. Also, although this issue’s postcards and contents list show One Piece as being published, the correction could not be made in time for the printing process. We sincerely apologize once again. The continuation is scheduled to resume in issue 46 (on sale October 14). We kindly ask for your continued support of One Piece.” — Shonen Jump Editorial Department
Nevertheless, it has now been confirmed that Oda is doing better. This means the One Piece manga is making a return, and far sooner than some fans expected. The One Piece manga will be back on October 12 for fans reading it on Manga Plus. For Japanese fans waiting for magazine drops, the wait will instead be till October 13.
What The Latest One Piece Break Means For The Series
One Piece’s Sudden Break Was Due To Oda’s Health
Oda Might Need More Breaks
The ordeal with Oda this week was definitely worrying to many fans. After all, something similar happened last year, almost around the same time. Oda’s health isn’t at its very best, and many fans are worried for him. Thankfully for Oda, however, he has been taking some breaks, which definitely helps, given that it takes some load off his shoulders and allows him to recover adequately. Oda is on track to hit the same number of chapters he hit last year, which means that for now, there is nothing major to worry about. Oda hasn’t been taking as many breaks as fans think he did. Fans should wish him a speedy recovery, and hope for the best.
