Logia Devil Fruits are some of the most powerful abilities that exist in the world of One Piece. These Devil Fruits were first teased around 27 years ago, and since then, they have only grown significantly, both in terms of powers and numbers. Despite that, the most heavily anticipated Logia Devil Fruit in the world of One Piece has yet to make an appearance, despite being teased decades ago. With the impending conclusion of the Elbaph Arc, One Piece is going to move closer to its most chaotic war, which will finally unleash the Devil Fruit power of the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon. Needless to say, it is one power that fans have waited ages to see in action.

How Eiichiro Oda Is Carefully Crafting A Logia Revival With Monkey D. Dragon’s Devil Fruit
It is no surprise to know that One Piece has recently suffered from Zoan fatigue. This started with the Wano Country Arc of the series, where a lot of Zoan Devil Fruits were featured. Wano saw Kaido stand as the main enemy, and given his obsession with collecting Zoan Devil Fruits, it made sense as to why so many featured in the story. But Egghead was no better in that regard, given the appearance of the Five Elders, Lucci, and Kaku. All these individuals utilized Zoan-type abilities that fell in either the regular class or the Mythical class.
When taking into consideration the fact that Paramecia is the most common class in One Piece, it meant that Logia was suffering tremendously. The final saga of One Piece has barely revealed any competent Logia abilities, and it is clear that this class needs a revival. That is sure to come with the Devil Fruit ability of Monkey D. Dragon, which was first teased in Logue Town around 27 years ago. Dragon’s Devil Fruit powers are being hidden by Eiichiro Oda, and logic dictates that his power reveal will be overwhelming, pushing Logia abilities back to the very top, and showcase why it is the strongest Devil Fruit class of all.
Breaking Down The Key Events That Will Lead Monkey D. Dragon To Demonstrate His Power The Elbaph Arc
Currently, One Piece is in the Elbaph Arc, and as things stand, it is clear that Dragon is not going to be involved in any way or form in the Warland. But this arc is already in its climax, as is apparent with the descent of Nerona Imu, and it will wrap up soon enough. Eiichiro Oda himself stated in his Jump Festa 2026 message that One Piece will enter a new arc this year. In other words, the focus will be on moving on from the Warland permanently.
When that happens, the Revolutionary Army will undoubtedly come under the spotlight because of their siege of the Holy Land of Marijoa. Monkey D. Dragon, whom fans have waited years to see in action, will finally get his fair share of attention as well, and with that, his Devil Fruit ability will finally be showcased too. Before the Elbaph Arc, Dragon was eagerly waiting for the Holy Knights to make their move. Now that they have done that, it means Dragon himself has to take up arms against them, and the Marine Admirals who have already mobilized. In that sense, Dragon will be thrust into the forefront of things, and he will get plenty of opportunities to show his Logia fruit abilities.

Assessing The Revolutionary Commander’s Potential For The Strongest Logia Ability
Monkey D. Dragon’s Devil Fruit abilities were teased long ago in the series, and at the very least, Oda has made it clear that this fruit has to do with the manipulation of winds and weather in some way. Right from his first introduction, Dragon could produce powerful winds, as was clearly seen in Chapter 100 of the series, in the Logue Town arc. Later on, during the extermination in Grey Terminal, he used these winds once again.

More than that, Dragon can even bring thunderclouds and cause torrential rains. This ability goes beyond just wind. At the same time, Monkey D. Dragon can also bring down lightning bolts, as was clearly seen when he saved Luffy from execution in Logue Town. All things taken into consideration, Dragon has a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to control storms. A key hint was delivered for this in the Elbaph arc, where one of the kids had storms as their worst fears. Dragon’s Devil Fruit ability is most likely a storm Logia, which stands as one of the deadliest forces of nature. In theory, this would allow Dragon to turn into winds, manipulate the weather, and cause large-scale destruction. Even uprooting entire countries would become a possibility for him.

Why Monkey D. Dragon Having A Storm Logia Fruit Fits His Characterization
Monkey D. Dragon having the Storm Storm fruit would be absolutely perfect for the final saga of One Piece. At this point, only overpowered Devil Fruit abilities are going to leave a lasting impression, especially after the reveal of ‘The Devil’s Fruit’ of Nerona Imu, and the power of Nika that Luffy possesses. To match up to these threats, Dragon needs an equally impressive power, and nature manipulation is perfect for that.
At the end of the day, Dragon will continue to be one of the strongest characters in the entirety of One Piece, and in that sense, he needs to have an overpowered ability of his own. The power to manipulate the weather itself is godly in nature, and if Dragon were to demonstrate it after the Elbaph arc concludes, he will automatically consolidate his position as one of the best Devil Fruit users in the series. That, when combined with the fact that he has already shown weather manipulation powers, makes it the perfect fit for him.
On top of that, this will also ensure that the Logia class of Devil Fruits gets its much-needed attention. Having suffered for a significant part of the story, Eiichiro Oda can put things right by giving Dragon this power and expanding upon its full potential, even going as far as showing what a Logia awakening could truly look like. Following the ongoing arc, One Piece will truly showcase the Revolutionary Commander after decades of teasing, and that alone makes it an incredibly exciting event to look forward to.
