The Devil Fruits that exist in the world of One Piece can primarily be divided into three types, those being Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia. Out of all three, the Logia types are known to be the most overpowered, given that they allow the user to transform into an element or a force of nature, completely embodying that power. The Logia types were introduced first with Smoker in Chapter 97 of One Piece, which came out officially in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #34 on July 19, 1999. Since then, the story has come a long way, with a lot of stronger Logia being introduced.
However, the climax of the ongoing Elbaf Arc, specifically Chapter 1183, which dropped officially on May 24, 2026, in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #26, confirmed that the Logia class is easily outclassed by the Mythical Zoans of the One Piece world. In the newest chapters, yet another Logia has fallen behind a Mythical Zoan when it comes to elemental manipulation powers, as the Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr has officially been confirmed to have greater powers than the Hie Hie no Mi.
One Piece Chapter 1183 Shows Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr Is Superior To Kuzan’s Hie Hie no Mi Logia
One Piece Chapter 1183 threw a lot of focus on the character of Gunko, or Princess Shuri, with her flashback from the Esperia Kingdom being explored. In this chapter, Eiichiro Oda also confirmed to all the fans that Gunko was still trapped in the ice from Ragnir, who holds the power of the Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, a legendary Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit from the era of the Void Century. This Devil Fruit is incredibly powerful and grants the user the ability to transform into the Ice Squirrel and use ice manipulation powers.
Hey Brook! That chick [Gunko] is still frozen! Can’t tell if she’s alive or not. We can just leave her there, yeah? — Franky to Brook, One Piece #1183
In the world of One Piece, there is already a powerful ice ability that falls in the Logia class called Hie Hie no Mi. This Devil Fruit allows the user to turn into ice, as well as create and manipulate the said ice at will. The Hie Hie no Mi, which was eaten by Kuzan, allows him to immediately freeze people to the bone in a matter of seconds and even pull off things like freezing part of an ocean at will. Kuzan’s Devil Fruit is certainly one of the most overpowered seen in One Piece, but when it comes to ice manipulation, it stands no chance against the power of the Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr. One Piece Chapter 1183 officially confirms that even an attack from Nerona Imu’s ultimate power, the Akuma no Mi, is not enough to melt the ice from Ragnir.

Ragnir’s Ice Attacks Far Surpass Kuzan In Potency
Previously, Loki claimed in One Piece Chapter 1179, which officially dropped on April 6, 2026, that the ice from Ragnir can only be melted by Ragnir himself. Shortly after, Imu unleashed a powerful Omen-based attack, charged with Conqueror’s Haki, at Gunko’s in an attempt to free her from Ragnir’s ice. One Piece Chapter 1183 confirmed that Imu, the strongest character in the entire world right now, failed to free her from this ice.
Luffy: Hey, Loki. That bad guy you froze earlier…is she dead?
Loki: It’s a flash freeze. It won’t be fatal, but only this guy [Ragnir] can melt the ice.
— Exchange between Luffy and Loki, One Piece Chapter #1179
On the other hand, Aokiji’s ice can easily be melted. When Aokiji froze Nico Robin and Luffy in Long Ring Long Land, both of them were easily thawed with warm water. Even Mera Mera no Mi’s fire stands as a perfect counter to Aokiji’s ice, as does magma. On the flip side, the same cannot be said for Ragnir’s ice, which is unmeltable and can only be undone by Ragnir himself, showcasing a direct superiority of freezing powers.

One Piece Chapter 1176 Shows Loki’s Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr Is Superior To Goro Goro no Mi
The theme of Mythical Zoans offering elemental manipulation even greater than those of Logia isn’t specific to just Kuzan and Ragnir. In fact, Loki and Enel share a similar sort of relationship. Enel holds the power of the Goro Goro no Mi, a Logia which allows him to transform into lightning as well as create and manipulate it at a large scale. Loki, on the other hand, has the ability to transform into the Mythical Dragon Nidhoggr, which has the ability to manipulate lightning as well.
In terms of offensive output, Enel’s Goro Goro no Mi stands absolutely no chance against the Nidhoggr Devil Fruit. Casual blasts from Loki, such as Thorheim, which officially debuted in chapter 1175 on March 2, 2026, can blow up entire islands, and this is only a fraction of what he can actually pull off. Enel, at his peak capability, can produce 200 Million Volts Amaru, but that wasn’t even enough to deal deadly damage to pre-time-skip Straw Hats. Loki, on the other hand, can erase islands, which is why his power is officially stated to be capable of destroying the world across multiple chapters, such as chapter 1130. In terms of lightning output, Loki far surpasses Enel with his Nidhogg ability, showcasing once again that Mythical Zoans outshine Logia when it comes to power output.
“The next time that Loki, the Accursed Prince, is freed, he will bring the world to ruin!” — One Piece Chapter #1130
Kaido’s Drum Dragon Surpasses The Potency Of The Magu Magu no Mi
Another interesting example of Mythical Zoan abilities surpassing those of Logia comes from Kaido’s ultimate transformation, called Flaming Drum Dragon. This form of his stems from Kaido’s Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which is a Mythical Zoan fruit that allows him to transform into an Eastern Dragon. In the peak transformation of this Devil Fruit, Kaido becomes a giant flame and magma Dragon that can vaporize an entire island by merely passing over it.
“Before that fist of yours can even come down, I’ll make sure to vaporize it.” — Kaido to Luffy, One Piece Chapter #1048
This Devil Fruit power is very similar to Akainu’s Magu Magu no Mi, which grants him the power to transform into magma, as well as control and produce it at will. While Akainu’s magma burns hot, it can easily be stopped, as seen when Jinbe grabbed his fist for a sustained period of time in Marineford, and Marco blocked his attack, completely nullifying it in the process, in chapter 575, released on February 22, 2010. On the other hand, Kaido’s magma was so hot that it melted Onigashima by merely passing over it, and even Luffy’s Gear 5 started burning upon mere contact.
With Kaido’s capabilities of vaporizing islands, it stands on a much greater level than Akainu’s, and on top of that, it offers other benefits as well, such as enhanced durability, as well as the power to manipulate wind, along with lightning and fire. All things considered, all major Mythical Zoan that have shown elemental manipulation powers appear to be significantly stronger than their Logia counterparts, and this is a theme that Eiichiro Oda will likely continue in the Final Saga.
