A creative Pokemon fan has made regional forms for Litwitck, Lampent, and Chandelure, getting an impressive result. Over the decades, the Pokemon franchise has added several gimmicks to spice up gameplay and expand the game’s lore, one of them being regional forms.
Regional forms were introduced with the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, with Game Freak presenting Alola-specific versions of classic pocket monsters like Raichu, Vulpix, and Diglett. Since then, other creatures have gained new variants of this type with the releases of Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which introduced the regions of Galar, Hisui, and Paldea. This gimmick often inspires fans to create art with variants of monsters that don’t yet have one, such as the regional forms for several Pokemon including Snorunt and Applin. Showing great ingenuity, one fan illustrated what it would be like if a popular creature had a new form.

On Reddit, a user called Lasercraft32 created regional forms for Litwick, Lampent, and Chandelure inspired by paper lanterns. As a result, the evolutionary line of Gen 5 Pokemon gained yellow flames instead of the usual purple. The cover on Lampent’s head and Chandelure’s arms have also been given new colors and designs to reflect the inspiration for the item, whose origin is allegedly China. To accompany the visual remake, they changed the Pokemon’s types from the usual Ghost/Fire-type to Fire/Flying-type, and gave them new abilities called Super Luck, Air Drift, and Guiding Light.
Pokemon Fan Creates Inventive Regional Form For Litwick’s Evolving Line
Litwitck and its evolutions were introduced in Pokemon Black and White, and are part of the group of Pokemon based on inanimate objects. Litwick is shaped like a small candle, while Lampent and Chandelure, living up to their names, are highly similar to a lampshade and chandelier. In addition to their eye-catching design, the critters also stand out for their spooky lore, which portrays Litwick as a thief of life energy, Lampent as an “emissary of death,” and Chandelure as a thief of its victims’ souls.
Litwitck and its evolutions became available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the release of the Teal Mask DLC, which introduced the Kitakami region and made it possible to capture even more pocket monsters. With the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A slated for this year, fans can expect good news, as everything points to the return of the popular Ghost-type trio with leaks hinting at Chandelure getting a Mega Evolution.
