Reacher Season 4 Has Already Recast A Major Role

Reacher season 4 is on the way, and while fans wait to dive into the exciting and action-packed new episodes, a notable character has been recast.

Reacher, which is adapted from Lee Child’s book series, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 4th, 2022. Alan Ritchson plays Jack Reacher, a former army major who uses his experience to help solve crimes. While viewers are excited about the upcoming spinoff called Neagley, the original show is so successful that it’s likely to last for several more seasons. After the memorable third season ended in March 2025, fans have been curious about where the story goes from here. Reacher season 4 promises more adventure, thrills, and some new cast members.

Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette Has Been Cast In Reacher Season 4

Deadline reported that Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette is playing police officer Jacob Merrick in Reacher season 4. A few weeks ago, Jay Baruchel was cast in the role. However, he left due to “a personal matter.” Barchuel is known for roles in the popular Judd Apatow comedies Knocked Up and This Is The End. The star recently appeared in the drama Blackberry.

Rodriguez-Marquette is a familiar face for fans of the underrated and gripping 2000s young adult drama Joan of Arcadia, which starred Amber Tamblyn as a teenager who can see God. Rodriguez-Marquette played Joan’s love interest and friend, artist Adam Rove. His other TV credits include the dark drama Huff and the intense HBO comedy Barry. His movie roles include Ben Davidson in the 2016 horror comedy Fear, Inc. and the 2009 sci-fi reboot Race to Witch Mountain.

Reacher also stars Willa Fitzgerald, Maria Sten, Bruce McGill, Chris Webster, and Malcolm Goodwin. As noted by Deadline, Reacher season 4 has a few new cast members: Kathleen Robertson, Marc Blucas, Kevin Weisman, Anggun, Agnez Mo, Kevin Corrigan, and Sydelle Noel. The upcoming season is adapted from Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in Lee Child’s book series, which finds Jack Reacher in a terrifying situation that begins with him meeting a stranger on a train. Ritchson, however, shared that he would love for the fourth season to be adapted from the second novel in the series, Die Trying.

While Ritchson is the face of Reacher, he has a busy acting career that involves starring in several movies. He’s attached to quite a few action movies, including Runner, War Machine, Playdate, Motor City, and The Man with the Bag. Although he has many film credits, including Raphael in 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Agent Aimes in 2023’s Fast X, he’s also starred in a variety of TV shows ranging from the charming Netflix series Alexa & Kate to the haunting Black Mirror season 3 episode “Nosedive.”

Although many would say that Ritchson is an action star who is perfect as Jack Reacher, he didn’t get cast immediately. He wasn’t cast after his audition, and when he seemed like the right fit, he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024 that it took eight months to win the role. Jennifer Salke, the Amazon MGM Studios Chief, shared with the publication:

While there is no release date for Reacher season 4, the series began filming this summer. Fans eagerly await the next chapter of Jack Reacher’s thrilling story.
