Former Disney star Skai Jackson made stunning domestic violence allegations against Deondre Burgin, her ex-boyfriend and the father of her child, in a restraining order request filed Monday.
Jackson, 23, alleges Burgin has been abusing her for more than a year, with the most recent incident occurring on Mother’s Day, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. In the latest assault, Jackson claims Burgin punched her in the face, grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head against a car while she was holding their newborn son, Kasai.
She details other instances of alleged abuse dating back to last year, in which Burgin choked her, scratched her and bashed her head into walls. She claims that while she was pregnant, he held her at knifepoint and threatened her with a gun, while demanding she drink bleach to kill their unborn child.
Jackson says she has video evidence to back up some of her claims.
She told the court that Burgin owns three guns and she fears for the safety of herself and her son. A temporary restraining order was granted on Monday, with a hearing scheduled for June 9 in Los Angeles.
News of the restraining order comes roughly nine months after Jackson was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery for allegedly pushing Burgin during an altercation at Universal Studios. However, the L.A. County district attorney declined to file formal charges against the actress.
At the time of her arrest, she reportedly told law enforcement that she and Burgin were engaged and expecting a child.
Burgin himself was arrested last month for an outstanding warrant, according to TMZ. At the time of their son’s birth in January, Burgin was serving a 90-day sentence for parole violation for an earlier theft and weapon possession case in Ohio.
Jackson starred on the Disney Channel sitcom “Jessie” and its spinoff show, “Bunk’d.” She also finished in fifth place on season 29 of “Dancing With the Stars” in 2020.
