Solo Leveling Season 3 Must Release In 2026
The Studio Needs To Build On The Anime’s Fame
Solo Leveling is one of the most loved anime series. Despite only having two seasons, it has surpassed One Piece as the anime with the most ratings on Crunchyroll. It also holds the record of getting 100,000 likes in the shortest time possible. Both these records are impressive, and they prove that Solo Leveling is extremely popular. Normally, when an anime has attained such levels of fame, the studio has no choice but to capitalize on it. In this case, A-1 Pictures has to make a big call. If it decides to release the anime in 2028 (according to rumors), then it will negatively impact its popularity.

With the anime industry booming and releasing multiple anime in a year, it is easy to forget about older titles. If A-1 Pictures sits on the anime for too long, many fans will eventually stop caring, and they’ll move on to other titles. The only way to keep them interested is by announcing the third season and releasing it within a couple of years at most.
According to the producers working on the anime, it takes 10 months to make an episode. The long duration explains why the quality of animation is so high. They also disclosed that some episodes take as long as 12 months. Considering the time needed to make an episode, fans might have to lower their expectations if they want the third season to be released in 2026.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Could End Up Being The Longest
Solo Leveling Season 3 could have 15 episodes
The final arcs might be covered in a film
The first season of Solo Leveling had 12 episodes, while the second had 13, bringing the overall count to 25. However, the anime’s third season might supplant the first two in terms of length. Not only are the upcoming arcs longer, but they are filled with a lot more fights. So far, the anime has adapted 14 arcs out of 22, meaning there are still eight arcs remaining.
The last four arcs cover the biggest war in Solo Leveling, so the studio will likely want to cover all of them in a single season or possibly even a film. The arcs have more chapters, so the studio will have to spread them across more episodes. So, Solo Leveling Season 3 could have as many as 15–16 episodes, maybe even more, considering the studio has to make additions and changes.
There Could Be A Solo Leveling Film
The chances of another Solo Leveling film coming out are rather high because the studio has already dabbled with the idea. It released a compilation film in 2024 that covered the entirety of the first season and a couple of episodes from season 2. However, producing a film full of new content is not going to be easy. If A-1 Pictures decides to make a film covering the final three arcs, then it could likely release in late 2028 or maybe even early 2029.
Many big names have begun to release films to cover an arc. The most recent example is Demon Slayer. Following the conclusion of Season 4, fans learned that the Infinity Castle arc wouldn’t be covered in a regular season. Instead, Ufotable decided to wrap up the story in a trilogy of films, the first of which is set to release in June 2025. The previous Demon Slayer films have been super successful, so there is a good chance that the films in the trilogy will shatter records. Depending on the revenue of the first film, other studios, including A-1 Pictures, might follow suit.
