Data covering the period from July to September shows that overall revenue increased at a solid pace compared with the same quarter last year, even as some indicators softened slightly from the previous quarter.

According to official figures for the three months to 30 September 2025, total gross gaming revenue (GGR) across Spain’s online gambling sector amounted to €405.36 million. This result represented a 16.49% increase year on year, while reflecting a modest quarterly decline of 1.35% compared with the second quarter of 2025.

Alongside revenue growth, player transaction volumes also rose over the year. Deposits recorded an annual increase of 18.19%, while withdrawals were up 16.82% compared with the same period in 2024. When measured against the previous quarter, deposits were broadly unchanged, slipping by 0.03%, and withdrawals declined by 2.70%.

Marketing investment remained substantial during the quarter, although spending levels shifted when compared with earlier periods. Total marketing expenditure reached €154.84 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.89%. Quarter on quarter, however, overall marketing spend fell by 6.00%. New account registrations followed a similar pattern, rising by 16.82% compared with Q3 2024, but decreasing by 2.70% relative to the previous quarter.

Casino segment dominates revenue mix

Online casino activity continued to account for the largest share of Spain’s online gambling market in the third quarter. Casino GGR reached €230.98 million, equal to 56.98% of total market revenue. Compared with Q3 2024, casino revenue increased by 22.93%, while quarterly growth stood at 6.67%.

Slot games remained the main contributor to casino performance. Slot machine GGR recorded a year-on-year increase of 27.78% and grew by 8.54% compared with the second quarter of 2025. Live roulette also posted quarterly growth of 4.20%. In contrast, conventional roulette revenue declined by 8.00% over the quarter, while blackjack revenue fell by 3.22%.

Betting performance shows mixed trends

The betting segment generated €149.50 million in GGR during the quarter, accounting for 36.88% of total online gambling revenue. Compared with the previous quarter, betting revenue decreased by 13.02%, although it remained 10.00% higher than the same quarter last year.

Within sports betting, conventional fixed-odds betting experienced a sharp quarterly decline of 42.98%. Live betting moved in the opposite direction, recording a quarterly increase of 32.82%. Other fixed-odds betting products grew by 23.85% over the quarter, while fixed-odds horse racing betting declined by 9.07%.

Bingo activity continued to represent a small portion of the market and recorded declines across both measurement periods. Bingo GGR fell by 5.92% compared with the second quarter and by 13.48% year on year.

Poker, while accounting for 5.36% of total market GGR, delivered growth on both a quarterly and annual basis. Poker revenue increased by 13.59% compared with Q2 2025 and by 5.80% compared with the same quarter last year. Within the segment, cash poker rose by 8.82% quarter on quarter, while tournament poker increased by 15.98%. On an annual basis, cash poker recorded growth of 12.91%, with tournament poker up 2.76%.

Marketing spend and player accounts

This promotional spend consisted of €28.57 million in bonuses released as prizes and €53.46 million classified as not included in prize funds.
