Michael Saylor’s Strategy, the world’s largest public Bitcoin holder, added more BTC to its balance as the price tumbled to $112,000 last week.
Strategy acquired 3,081 Bitcoin (BTC) for $356.9 million during the week ending Sunday, according to a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Monday.
Saylor’s business intelligence software company purchased its latest Bitcoin batch at an average price of $115,829 per coin, as BTC started the week at around $116,700 and slipped to $112,000 on Thursday, according to CoinGecko.
The acquisition brought Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 632,457 BTC, purchased for about $46.5 billion at an average price of $73,527 per coin.
Strategy buys 3,666 BTC in August
Strategy’s latest Bitcoin acquisition came after two modest buys, including a 430 BTC purchase announced last Monday and a 155 BTC buy the previous week.
With the new purchase, Strategy has acquired 3,666 BTC this month, a significant decline from the 31,466 BTC bought in July. In June, Strategy purchased 17,075 BTC.
With Strategy’s BTC buying pace slowing over the past three weeks, it remains to be seen whether the company will make a significant purchase in the final week of August or opt to limit its acquisitions.
Strategy has historically avoided buying Bitcoin during dips, with Saylor openly preferring to purchase BTC at higher prices.
“I’m going to be buying the top forever. Bitcoin is the exit strategy,” the Strategy co-founder said in 2024.
BTC yield climbs targeting 30%
Amid slower purchasing, Strategy’s BTC yield — a KPI representing the percentage change in the ratio between its BTC holdings and assumed diluted shares outstanding — has been slowly climbing.
After reaching its previous target of 25% year-to-date for the first time in July 2025, Strategy’s BTC yield has continued increasing and reached 25.4% as of Monday.
The company revised its 2025 Bitcoin KPI targets in late July, increasing the BTC yield target from 25% to 30%, in addition to raising the BTC gain target from $15 billion to $20 billion.

Strategy originally targeted a YTD yield of 15%, but raised it to 25% in May amid increasing performance. In 2024, Strategy’s Bitcoin yield amounted to 74.3%, while the reported BTC gain was 140,538 Bitcoin.
As of Monday, Strategy’s Bitcoin gain YTD stood at 113,524 BTC, according to official reported data.
