So far, we have not gotten all that many games that obviously replicate God of War’s modern formula. As Flying Wild Hog’s specialty is shooters, the developer combined meaty hack-and-slash mayhem with explosive ranged weaponry for its 2022 release, with both aspects complementing each other and being equally important. The over-the-shoulder camera angle screams God of War, as does the visceral and gory combat that is constant.

Now, Evil West lacks GOW’s exploration, as most missions move from one arena to another with very little else to do. Therefore, I would not recommend this game if you are craving a very varied experience, but I would recommend it to anybody looking for a pulpy action extravaganza that also has a really cool Weird Western vibe. Although not mythological, the story is appropriately bombastic and ambitious.
