Tiger Woods is already eyeing his return to golf, once the embattled athlete returns from treatment he’s pursuing in the wake of a rollover crash in Florida resulted in his second DUI arrest .
The 50-year-old five-time Masters champ, who is facing potential jail time for last month’s crash in Florida, “desperately” wants to make his comeback, which is “helping him” at present, a golf insider told People.
Woods, who was also charged with DUI in 2017, “knows he needs to beat his issues and also deal with the pain,” which the source said stems both from golf and “his regular fitness schedule.”
Another insider said Woods “just wants to get better in all areas of his life.”
The first source said Woods is getting support “both personally and professionally” from those in his circle: “All of this is helping him deal with it enough to get through it.”
Woods had to miss the Masters after a rollover crash on March 27 near his Jupiter Island home, after which he said he’d be “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”
He’s charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a chemical or physical test of his breath or urine, both misdemeanors. He previously entered a not guilty plea to driving under the influence with property damage as well as refusal to submit to a urinalysis.
