James Gunn Reveals Upcoming Fortnite Crossover

James Gunn has officially announced that the character Peacemaker will be coming to Fortnite as a skin that will be available to purchase in the Item Shop. Fortnite is currently nearing the end of Chapter 6 Season 3, which features a major crossover with James Gunn’s recent film, Superman.

With the end of Chapter 6 Season 3 looming, Fortnite announced a special live event that will be taking place on August 2 at 2:30 PM ET. Superman will likely play a big role in the aptly-named “Super Showdown” event, which will progress the story of Chapter 6. Unlike the previous live event that ended the Galactic Battle mini-season, gamers will still be able to play Chapter 6 Season 3, as it isn’t scheduled to end until August 7. With Chapter 6 Season 4 coming soon, many fans are hoping Epic Games will begin to share more details about the future of Fortnite after the live event.

In a recent post on Reddit, Alphasilverhawk shared a video from San Diego Comic Con of James Gunn announcing that the DC character Peacemaker will be coming to Fortnite’s Item Shop at some point in the future. While Gunn didn’t confirm any sort of release date, many fans seem to believe the skin could arrive alongside Season 2 of Peacemaker, which will be released on August 21 on HBO Max. While Superman was added to the game as part of the battle pass for Chapter 6 Season 3, James Gunn specifically mentioned that Peacemaker will be an Item Shop skin.

Peacemaker Is Coming to the Fortnite Item Shop

A recent leak from ShiinaBR suggested that the character Vigilante could also be coming to the popular battle royale alongside Peacemaker. DC seems to be deepening its ties with Epic Games, as the character Cyborg recently came to Fortnite as well. With the addition of Cyborg and Robin in Chapter 6 Season 3, players now have access to all the major heroes from the show Teen Titans.

It was also recently revealed that Fortnite will be adding two new game modes to Blitz Royale. Six Stack is a fresh mode that will allow gamers to team-up in groups of six for the first time in Blitz Royale. Pure Chaos is another new mode that will feature increased siphon and highly skilled opponents, making it perfect for gamers seeking a challenge. Both modes will make their debut on August 2 at 3 PM after the “Super Showdown” live event. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
