Two men were shot inside a low-income apartment building serving formerly homeless families in Brooklyn on Tuesday, cops said.
The victims were struck inside Stone House, a supportive housing residence on Junius St. near Glenmore Ave. in Brownsville, around 7:20 p.m., according to law enforcement.
A law enforcement source said the two men were returning to Stone House from a nearby bodega when four suspects followed them into the building and opened fire.
“They’re the two guys who usually hang out in front of the store across the street,” said a neighbor, who was in the store with her son just before the shooting started. “They were there moments before it happened, and then they went inside. They live on the third floor.”
One of the victims, age 35, was shot in the right leg, while the other, a 30-year-old, was struck in the abdomen, cops said.
Medics rushed both men to Brookdale University Hospital, where the older victim is expected to survive. The younger man’s condition was not immediately clear.
Cops are looking for three men, along with a woman with red hair, according to law enforcement sources.
Stone House is a six-story, 161-unit apartment building developed by Win, formerly known as Women in Need, with 96 units reserved for homeless families.
