The Chromatic Moissonneuse in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an optional boss fight located on the Continent. This boss comes with powerful attack patterns that are difficult to parry and dodge. Additionally, it can attack twice in one turn, potentially wiping out party members two at a time.
Although it has certain weaknesses, defeating it can require significant effort and time without utilizing the right strategy to break it. Furthermore, the longer the battle lasts, the lower the party’s chances of success will be, as their healing and revive tints can run low. For those struggling, here’s how to beat Chromatic Moissonneuse in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Attacks
Earth-based three-hit and six-hit combinations
Resistances
Ice
Weakness
Fire and Break
The Chromatic Moissonneuse will only use two attacks, a six-hit combo and a three-hit combo. While that doesn’t sound troubling on paper, the attacks are difficult to parry, and it hits very hard after raising its attack power. Both combination attacks are capable of knocking out a single party member in one turn. The three-hit combination is easier to parry, so focus on trying to dodge the six-hitter and practice against the three hits if you’re having trouble timing the parries.
The key to defeating the Chromatic Moissonneuse is to raise its break bar and stun it for extra damage. It is weak to fire, so inflicting Burn and marking it for extra damage will raise the break bar even faster. When the break bar is full, unleash Break attacks like Verso’s Phantom Stars
to inflict Break and stun it.
Then, build up Maelle’s AP to attack the Chromatic Moissonneuse with the Sword Ballet
. Moreover, with two Gradient Points, Verso can use Strike to break the boss and inflict massive damage. Keep Lune as the healer while casting fire spells in between attacks. However, when stunned, Lune can inflict massive damage with her Crippling Tsunami
skills.
After defeating the Chromatic Moissonneuse, the party will be awarded 180,000 XP, Moisson
(a level 17 weapon for Sciel), x2 Resplendent Chroma Catalyst
, and x5 Colour of Lumina
.
