Former child actress Sophie Nyweide was pregnant when she was found dead along a Vermont riverbank last week as authorities say they are not ruling out foul play.
The “Noah” actress’ pregnancy was confirmed in her death certificate, obtained by TMZ. She was pronounced dead in Bennington shortly before 5 a.m. on April 14.
Nyweide’s cause of death his pending autopsy results, which will also include a toxicology report.

Authorities told the outlet that Nyweide was declared dead after she was found near a Bennington high school at around 4 a.m. on April 14, near a manmade structure known as a lean-to, which she had previously visited. In this case, the lean-to was reportedly formed by downed trees.
A man who was with the “Margot at the Wedding” actress at the time of her death is cooperating with authorities. He is considered neither a suspect nor a person of interest. The man’s relationship to Nyweide has not yet been detailed.
Authorities are also trying to get in touch with other people who were with Nyweide at the lean-to before she died. They meanwhile told Vanity Fair that Nyweide’s death is being investigated as “a possible unintentional overdose.”

Nyweide’s mother, Shelly, told TMZ she had been aware of her daughter’s drug use and that she was a small woman.
The Vermont native’s obituary remembered her as “a kind and trusting girl,” which “left her open to being taken advantage of by others.”
Her death was attributed to a history of having “self-medicated to deal with all the trauma and shame she held inside.”
